Product Description
Telefunken was one of the seminal brands that defined the "German" mic sound: mid-forward, present, with a frequency response that helped vocals and instruments sit perfectly in any mix. But what if you combine that with the modern transient response and lighting-quick accuracy of field-effect transistors? Well, the robust Telefunken Elektroakustik TF17 is your answer. The TF17 joins the Telefunken Alchemy series of microphones as a bold cardioid condenser mic that brings out the best of any source.
IDEAL FOR ANY SOURCE
The Telefunken TF17 features a versatile frequency response that makes it a solid choice for anything you put in front of it. This studio workhorse will shine on vocals, drums, piano, and more. The bold midrange is a given of any German-style mic, but the TF17 compliments that with an extended low end and a natural high end that brings out even the finest details. Along with this wide range, the mic also sports a max SPL of 135 dB, making it capable of withstanding even the gnarliest percussion hits or horn blasts.
POWERED BY UNIQUE CIRCUITRY
Inside the TF17 sits a single-membrane version of the K47-style capsule made famous by the TF47, ensuring equal parts detail and focus. The amplifier is inspired by the FET-powered amps found in the Telefunken M60 and TF11 along with plenty of high-quality components including a custom OEP/Carnhill output transformer and premium through-hole construction. The result is a sound that's clean, noiseless, and full of character.
STREAMLINED DESIGN
The TF17 packs its premium components in a compact and durable enclosure, hand-assembled in the USA. The mic's minimal size, plus the fact that it doesn't require any external power supply, means that you're always a quick and easy setup away from top-quality tracking. Experience the Telefunken Elektroakustik TF17 today to see what the "German Sound" is all about.
