Product Description
The OLLO Audio X2 open-back headphones are built to give producers and mix engineers truly accurate monitoring, no matter what room they’re in. Most studios aren’t acoustically flat, and even in the sweet spot, room modes create peaks and dips that software can’t fully correct. The X2 headphones deliver neutral, balanced sound so your mixes and masters translate reliably to any playback system. OLLO developed the X2’s acoustics and calibration together, so the headphones sound flat right out of the box. Calibration refines that accuracy further instead of forcing the drivers to compensate for a flawed design. Hand-built from American walnut, aluminum, stainless steel, artificial leather, and silicone, the X2 is designed to withstand daily studio use and visiting clients, and every part can be replaced at home. Low-impedance custom drivers play loud from almost any source, from an interface to a laptop, and the self-adjusting headband makes it quick to share them with collaborators.
ACOUSTICS FIRST, THEN CALIBRATION
The X2’s sound starts with its acoustic design. Custom 50 mm dynamic drivers with beryllium-coated PET and polyurethane membranes are angled and offset in a conical chassis for a soundstage that accurately conveys instrument placement in stereo and down-mixed immersive projects. Left and right drivers are matched to within ±1 dB, and a Saati flow resistor controls front-to-back air pressure. The headband’s clamping force is set to achieve the target frequency response, and distortion stays extremely low, under 0.157% THD at 85 dB SPL. Every X2 is measured individually during quality control. Its Unit Specific Calibration (USC) file corrects the small variations that come from material tolerances, reaching approximately ±1 dB of OLLO’s target curve. That’s far tighter than generic headphone correction software, which is based on averaged measurements.
OPEN, PORTABLE CALIBRATION
The USC file uses unencrypted, human-readable EQ data, with no subscriptions or software lock-in. You own your calibration data completely. Load it into the included OLLO USC plug-in (VST, AU, AAX, and standalone for macOS and Windows), which adds crossfeed, customization to taste, and a bypass toggle for printing mixes, and supports up to five USC-calibrated headphones. The same data works with Realphones, Sonarworks, and other EQ-capable plug-ins, and with DSP mixers and interfaces like RME TotalMix, UA Console, Neumann MT48, MOTU, and Metric Halo, so your calibration can follow you system-wide or into analog console setups. OLLO also prints your calibration values on a datasheet inside the box, so you can dial them into any available EQ when working in a guest studio, with no software installation required.
