Product Description
The Cloudlifter CL-X2 is a dual-channel mic activator that uses patented Class A discrete JFET circuitry coupled with a custom CineMag transformer to deliver selectable gain settings of +12 dB or up to +36 dB for adding dynamic character and harmonic detail to any passive microphone. The CL-X2 provides a significant boost to low-output microphones, revealing subtle nuances and enhancing overall audio quality.
X = TRANSFORMER, UNLOCK THE LEGEND WITHIN
Transformers have played a vital role in capturing legendary sound for over a century, and the CL-X2 builds on that legacy. The CineMag transformer adds sonic character, presence, and harmonic detail to your recordings, similar to the legendary sound of transformers found in large format recording consoles, yet with modern Cloudlifter authenticity. The louder the source, the more the transformer responds with nuance and harmonic detail. Use the +12 dB setting to capture sources like drums and loud amplifiers and take advantage of the enhanced character.
CAPTURE EVERY DETAIL WITH MORE FEELING
This transformer-equipped mic activator goes beyond elevating your signal; it unlocks new dimensions of authentic character by utilizing a custom CineMag mic input transformer designed for the X-Series, coupled to the Cloudlifter’s world-renowned circuitry. With modes of up to +12 dB or +36 dB of pristine gain, the CL-X2 empowers your microphones to capture every nuance and detail of even the quietest of sources with exceptional clarity. The +12 dB mode allows for louder sources to take full advantage of the dynamically responsive transformer character of the CL-X2. The Cloudlifter CL-X2 is more than just a gain booster; it's a tool that empowers you to shape your sound with precision and character. Handcrafted in Tucson, Arizona, the CL-X2 is built with rugged steel construction.
