Known for industry-leading studio equipment like the 5088 console and Shelford Series outboard gear, Rupert Neve Designs has always been a favorite of today's top recording and mixing engineers. But did you know it can also be used for mastering?

Our friends at Rupert Neve Designs recently sat down with mastering engineer Heba Kadry to get her thoughts on using the brand's best-selling Portico II Master Bus Processor and new MBT Master Bus Transformer. Keep scrolling to watch the full video from RND below, and check out our First Listen video to hear the MBT Master Bus Transformer in action.

Heba has owned the Master Bus Processor for about eight years. In that time, she's mastered tracks for artists like Björk, Sufjan Stevens, and Big Thief. And while the Master Bus Processor has served her well, she was excited to pick up the new MBT Master Bus Transformer when it came out in 2023.

Initially skeptical at how greatly the two units would differ, she was pleasantly surprised by the expanded silk control and color compression features of the MBT, which add character and vibe to audio. Watch the video below to hear her thoughts on using the Master Buss Processor for color and the MBT to "bring the vibe to the party."
