Akane Nakamura

Originally hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Akane Nakamura brings a unique perspective to Vintage King as both the only female sales representative and our direct connection to our clientele in Asia. Akane started out as a pianist at age 3 (she still plays today), but after seeing recording engineers being interviewed on TV, she decided to be the one at the console and went off to study recording at Kogakuin College in Japan.

After college, Akane served as an engineer at the SAM recording studio in Tokyo, all the while mapping out a plan to achieve her lifelong dream of working at a Los Angeles recording studio. Eventually, Akane left Japan in order to further her studies at the L.A. Recording Workshop in hopes of developing relationships with some of the city’s top facilities. Her hard work ultimately paid off and she attained a chair behind the console at the legendary Mix Room in Burbank, CA, whose expansive client list includes Velvet Revolver, Madonna, Usher, Luther Vandross, Jou
