Improving on perfection is a tough gig, but Rick St. Pierre seems to have a knack for just that. Wizard’s Modern Classic II expands control of the Rhythm Channel with the additional higher gain structure as well as a Rhythm Master Volume control. A foot-switchable Rhythm Boost modification provides vintage rhythm textures from soft and smooth to tight and in your face—all at volume levels recording engineers and club owners will appreciate.
The foot-switchable Lead Gain and Lead Master channel as well as the Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence tone stack and the foot-switchable tube buffered effect loop is carried over from the Modern Classic. Because, after all, the Mona Lisa doesn’t need a better smile!
The addition of a Contour control allows for fine-tuning the “darkness” of the output section, emphasizing the amp’s overall tone and harmonic color. It is incredibly useful for rounding off "toppy" sounding cabs in the studio without having to change the front end mix on the amplifier. Running the Contour fully clockwise takes it out of the circuit. A rear panel mounted Rhythm Bright and Lead Bright controls allow for custom tweaking individual channel brightness/darkness.
The following is a partial list of musicians who use or own Wizard Amplifiers and speaker cabinets.
