The Teaching Machines Wellspring spring reverb unit combines the nostalgic warmth of classic spring units with a modern and versatile control scheme. Loaded with analog spring reverb and on-board delay, modulation, and filter effects, the Wellspring can transform your dry signal into shimmering soundscapes, echoing walls of noise, and everything in between.
There’s nothing quite like the dusty crackle and metallic textures of an honest-to-goodness spring reverb, which is why the Wellspring has four springs across two tanks. Whether you prefer subtle twinkles or cascading sonic waves, the Wellspring provides wide and full stereo ‘verb reminiscent of classic spring units.
Alongside its authentic spring reverb, the Wellspring also offers contemporary effects and controls for even more tonal possibilities. The responsive stereo delay offers everything from ping-ponging slapback to self-oscillating madness, while the filter and modulation controls help tame ringing and feedback for impressively long and smooth tails. But the Wellspring’s true wildcard is the Magic knob, which creates a unit-wide feedback loop for wonderfully unpredictable (and possibly never-ending) results.
Housed in a classy vintage-inspired enclosure, the Teaching Machines Wellspring is a lovingly crafted analog unit designed for modern artists and producers. Try the Teaching Machines Wellspring today to take your sound to new spaces.
The Teaching Machines Wellspring Stereo Spring Reverb has left a profound effect on me as an artist. The two most important points are to use unbalanced cables (not TRS) and don't lose the manual. This unit has a very complex gain structure (especially for singer songwriters like myself) and requires some time upfront to achieve the vast arrary of results available to your music. When I say every knob and switch most likely interacts both somewhere and sometime, I mean it. The manufacturer provides an outstanding warranty and exceptional customer service. I emailed them with simple questions to get started and they responded quickly with the answers I needed. Have you ever had a piece of analog gear that is vastly superior to it's digital counterpart? With the Wellspring there is no going back. Game changer. Game over. Game on. Experimentation and optimization are high watermarks with this piece of gear. It's only a matter of time before you hear something extremely musical, that you have never heard before. The reason it's called a "magic knob" is because all of the settings leading up to it interact (I can't stress this enough, in a good way) to create truly magical reverbs. If you can visualize where an instrument or voice sits in the mix, then this gem can take you there. The only thing missing was my subscription to the Teaching Machines website to anxiously await their next innovation. Shoutout to Frank and Mat!
