SSL-DESIGNED PURE DRIVE PREAMPS

SSL's PURE DRIVE mic pre/line preamps offer pristine, transparent sound with a unique Drive mode for adding harmonic character. When engaged, Drive mode introduces rich saturation that responds dynamically to mic pre gain, making it perfect for pushing vocals, guitars, and drums to the front of the mix. With 32 input channels, each featuring a PURE DRIVE preamp, the SSL Origin 32 can handle even the most demanding studio sessions.

CLASSIC "BLACK KNOB" E SERIES (242) EQ

The Origin 32 features the celebrated Black Knob E-Series 242 EQ featured on legacy SSL consoles. Known for its open and detailed sound, this powerful 4-band parametric channel EQ allows engineers to sculpt frequencies with precision, offering both bell and shelving curves on the high and low bands. The high-pass filter is particularly useful when tracking, helping to eliminate unwanted low frequencies that consume digital headroom. Whether shaping tracks or dialing in mix corrections, the E-Series 242 EQ delivers SSL tonal character.

CLASSIC SSL BUS COMPRESSOR

SSL Origin mixing consoles are equipped with the legendary bus compressor—an essential tool for achieving cohesion and balance on the mix bus. Designed to glue tracks together with dynamic control, this classic bus compressor maintains punch and clarity even at higher compression settings. A sidechain circuit with an optional high-pass filter allows engineers to shape the sound of their mix bus (or any other track) without compromising low-frequency integrity.

VERSATILE ROUTING

Designed modern studio workflows, the SSL Origin console features an efficient routing matrix with streamlined bus assignments. The 16-bus system allows for quick and intuitive routing with real analog summing across multiple stems or subgroups, making complex projects more manageable. With ±10 dB trim pots and simple two-button routing, the SSL Origin 32 makes it easy to integrate external stereo sources, dedicated channel direct outputs, and stereo foldback outputs.

LARGE AND SMALL FADERS ON EACH CHANNEL STRIP

Combining the features of an in-line console and a split console, each of the Origin's 32 channels features a 100mm large fader with independent pan, solo, and cut functions, as well as a 60mm small fader with a pan knob. Both fader paths include dedicated channel direct outputs and fully balanced switched inserts for adding outboard gear to your recording or monitoring signal chain. During mixdown, the small fader path can be routed to the mix bus, effectively doubling the console’s 32 channels to 64. For those who prefer automation within their production software, SSL has integrated 0 dB switches that remove the faders from the signal path, delivering fully digital control that normal in-line consoles can

CONFIGURABLE ORIGIN MASTER CONTROL SECTION

At the heart of all SSL studio mixing consoles is the all-important center section, which provides comprehensive management of talkback, monitoring, buses, stereo returns, and overall workflow customization. The Origin 32 console's modular center section allows engineers to optimize their setup with 6U of "SSL master control tiles" for outboard processors, controllers, or monitoring tools. With adjustable trims, polarity control, DIM and MONO functions, and left/right mute options, the SSL Origin console's center section is designed to meet the needs of both traditional analog studio workflow and modern studio environments.
