Soyuz combines Russian engineering with Western quality control measures to build handmade microphones based on original designs. Soyuz microphones have unique personalities that perform similarly to microphones manufactured in the 1960s. Soyuz “modern classic” microphones are warm, responsive, and clear. When master machinists and genuine attention are prioritized, the result is perfection.

Most new high-end microphones are direct copies of a few classic German or Austrian designs, but Soyuz prefers to start from scratch. Soyuz original microphone designs are drawn from the best that both Russian and German microphone traditions have to offer. The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered at The Base, a premier production facility in Tula, Russia. Everything is done much the same way it was 60 years ago by companies like Neumann and AKG, right down to the manual lathes and drill presses.
The Soyuz 017 Tube and FET (field effect transistor) condensers make everything they record sound larger than life, whether recording vocals, piano, guitars, woodwinds, or drums. Soyuz calls it the Tsar of Mics for good reason. The classic sound of the 017 was previously considered impossible to achieve with new microphones. Soyuz intends for the 017 to be the future benchmark for modern microphones with all the desirable traits of vintage condensers. You’ll love its open and graceful top-end, warm midrange, and balanced low-end. The FET version of the 017 is recognized for its ability to capture transients with a somewhat faster, tighter response.
The 013 TUBE and 013 FET small diaphragm condensers meld audio precision and transformer color into a combination of unparalleled musicality. After spending decades studying, servicing, and building classic microphones, Soyuz created the custom S13 capsule for the 013 Tube and 013 FET. The 013 Series possesses a remarkable ability to capture source material with an accuracy that is always flattering, never harsh. The 013 is ideal for drum overheads as well as a variety of different instruments.
A sound to be reckoned with is the thick low-end, pronounced mid-range, and smooth top-end of the 023 Bomblet, the workhorse of the Soyuz family. Like all Soyuz capsules, its custom large capsule is designed and machined in-house. Featuring a distinct blend of color and clarity, the Soyuz 023 Bomblet condenser is perfect for capturing everything from drums to amplifiers, as well as very easy to use. The proprietary transformers give the 023 Bomblet a sonic thickness that works wonders on instruments with distinctive low-end characteristics.
Soyuz is a young brand with a phenomenal foundation in place. Instead of recreating the past, their team chooses to nurture its own heritage instead. Every Soyuz microphone is handmade by a unique pool of talented musicians, producers and audio engineers working towards a shared goal.
