The UDO Super Gemini is a bi-timbral, 20-voice analog/digital hybrid synthesizer built for expressive sound design and performance. Featuring advanced FPGA-based oscillators and SSI-style analog filters arranged in a unique dual-layer architecture, the UDO Super Gemini conjures complex synth tones. An integrated 64-step sequencer and multi-mode arpeggiator allow you to program intricate patterns, while an expressive ribbon controller allows you to modulate almost any parameter in real time. Built like a tank and featuring an intuitive, analog-style control layout, this one-of-a-kind hybrid synth is equally at home on the road or in the studio.
20-VOICE ANALOG/HYBRID POLYSYNTH
The Super Gemini’s hybrid engine incorporates 20 FPGA-driven digital oscillators split across Upper and Lower layers, enabling bitimbral sound with 10-note polyphony. These signals are fed into SSI-based analog low- and high-pass filters to add analog warmth and character. Extensive modulation is made possible by dual VCA envelopes, LFOs, and an 8×8 modulation matrix. From classic polysynth leads to far-out, wave-morphing sound design, the Super Gemini makes anything possible.
BINAURAL MODE
Binaural mode reconfigures the oscillators into stereo-paired voices routed to left and right signal paths, making it easy to assign filters, envelopes, and effects separately per channel. Use the dedicated controls for binaural panning on the Upper and Lower layers to craft spacious ambient pads and unique 3D sound design patches.
FPGA OSCILLATORS WITH DDS
The Super Gemini’s oscillators use FPGA-based Direct Digital Synthesis cores to generate sine, saw, square, triangle, noise, and custom waveforms with sample-level accuracy. Oscillator 1 offers a multi-voice super engine with 64 unique single-cycle waveforms, while Oscillator 2 delivers hard sync, ring modulation, PWM, variable noise colors, and audio-rate LFO capabilities.
CUSTOM-ENGINEERED RIBBON CONTROLLER
The Super Gemini synthesizer's touch-sensitive ribbon controller can bring life to any performance with expressive position and pressure sensitivity. Assignable via the modulation matrix, it can modulate the filter cutoff, oscillator pitch, LFO rate, and almost any other parameter. Pressing or sliding on the ribbon sends continuous controller data, allowing you to incorporate fluid sweeps, rhythmic gating, and microtonal bends into your performances.
BUILT-IN SEQUENCER AND ARPEGGIATOR
The Super Gemini features a powerful onboard sequencer offering up to 64 programmable steps per layer with slide, accent, and rest functions for nuanced programming. Swing and clock division settings are adjustable per layer, and the five-mode arpeggiator features a smart-hold option with MIDI sync. Patterns comprised of up to 16 sequences are stored internally, enabling quick recall on stage or while composing.
PREMIUM BUILD QUALITY
Housed in a robust aluminum and steel chassis with high-quality potentiometers, switches, and faders selected for durability, the Super Gemini is built to handle to rigors of the road. The 61-note semi-weighted Fatar keybed provides consistent action and accurate polyphonic aftertouch, even after years of heavy use. Panels are serviceable for maintenance, and internal electronics are secured to withstand impacts and vibration. Not all polyphonic synthesizers are built this tough AND sound this good!
