Telefunken Elektroakustik has combined the three unique voices of the TEC Award-winning Dynamic Series for drum recording and live performance applications. The Telefunken Elektroakustik DD5 Drum Microphone Set set consists of the M82 handling kick drum duties, the M80-SH on snare, and M81-SH for toms. Telefunken drum packs ship in the heavy-duty hard shell FC80 flight case and include multiple drum mounts (M 782, M 784 and M 785) and a SGMC-5R 5-Meter Right-Angle XLR Cable for each microphone in the set.

The DD5 is five-piece dynamic microphone drum package. Each system Includes:

M80-SH SUPERCARDIOID DYNAMIC MICROPHONE

The low-mass capsule with ultra-thin membrane found in the M80-SH delivers a highly detailed sound capable of capturing every nuance of your performance. The result unlike most dynamic mics is not a mid-heavy sound, but a detailed full-range sound, making it perfect for anything from vocals to guitar amps to snare drums. The microphone features a head and capsule design that offsets the proximity effect of the supercardioid polar pattern prevent vocals from sounding boomy and muddy.

M81-SH SUPERCARDIOID DYNAMIC MICROPHONE

Updated for 2026, it sets a new standard for low-profile dynamic microphones. The compact footprint of the M81-SH makes it ideal for tight-fit applications such as drums and guitar amps on stage, as well as vocal positions for drummers and keyboard players where a full-size microphone may be obstructive. The M81-SH now includes the same vibration-dampening technology and sleek finishes found on Telefunken’s handheld and wireless versions, ensuring consistent performance and appearance across the product line.

M82 DYNAMIC MICROPHONE

The M82 is a robust, end-address microphone that features a large dynamic diaphragm with superb low frequency capabilities. Though it was designed to capture fat and punchy kick drum tones, the two on-board EQ switches make the M82 equally suited for a multitude of sources including vocals, percussion, guitar and bass amplifiers, organ, and brass instruments. Both the KICK EQ and HIGH BOOST switches function independently and give the user the ability to tailor the microphone’s response to the source with ease. The M82 is hand-assembled and tested in our American facility.
