Product Description
The Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series was the first analog console to provide the dual benefits of a full 5.1 surround architecture and the increased bandwidth and resolution needed for DVD-Audio and SACD. The XL provides both outstanding audio quality and comprehensive multichannel surround capabilities.
The 9000 J and K-Series (the J was released first in 1995) had a similar user layout, but very different internals. On the 9000, no capacitors are used throughout the audio path - SSL's "SuperAnalogue" technology. Theoretical bandwidth is 5 Hz to 500 kHz. The circuits are band limited (on purpose) to 10 Hz to 80 kHz on a 9000J and 10 Hz to 120 kHz on the 9000K. The XL 9000K, introduced in 2002, has surfaced mount components in the center section, compared to the J it has better headroom, bandwidth and a lot of upgrades.
This console comes loaded with all original 80 channels. Power supply rack and computer are complete and functional per manufacturer specs. System consists of an outboard remote patch bay with all system cabling at standard lengths (10 meters.) Power supply, computer, and network cable harness are the same. Service manuals are complete and present. Includes original SSL Tower (a couple SMPS modules need repair/replacement). Channel Strips are in good working order, and nothing out of the ordinary of a console of this type and age.
