PUREDRIVE PREAMPS WITH VHD TECHNOLOGY

The front end of the SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 features PureDrive mic/line preamps with Variable Harmonic Drive (VHD) technology, enabling a range of tonal flavors from clean and transparent to gritty and saturated. In normal operation, the preamps provide up to 70 dB of gain for mic signals and 55 dB for line-level signals. Pressing the Drive button engages the VHD circuit, introducing real analog saturation that adds harmonics according to the amount of gain. From crystal-clear DI signals to subtle warmth and breakup, all the way to aggressive harmonic distortion, the SSL ORIGIN EVO's PureDrive preamps do it all.

CLASSIC 'BLACK KNOB' E SERIES EQ

The SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 features the classic "Black Knob" 242 EQ on every channel, pulled straight from the iconic SSL E-Series consoles. This versatile four-band EQ features two fully parametric midrange bands, low- and high-frequency bands with switchable bell and shelf curves, and the option to flip the EQ from the Large Fader path to the Small Fader path. The ORIGIN EVO 32's EQ section features generous frequency overlap between bands, allowing you to create sophisticated EQ curves that aren't possible on other consoles.

E SERIES DYNAMICS ON EVERY CHANNEL

Each channel includes an E Series dynamics section for classic SSL compression, expansion, and gating. Powered by a Class A VCA chip, the compressor offers a wide range of compression ratios, hard and soft knee curves, logarithmic or linear release options, optional fast attack mode, and a true RMS sidechain detector. The dual-function gate/expander stage makes it possible to isolate individual drum hits with tight gating or alter dynamics with subtle expansion. Flexible controls allow you to bypass the SSL ORIGIN EVO's dynamics section, flip between Large and Small Fader paths, and use the link function to pair adjacent channels for true stereo operation.

UPGRADED HIGH- AND LOW-PASS FILTERS

Upgraded high- and low-pass filters on the SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 make it easier than ever to eliminate unwanted low-end rumble and high-end harshness. The sweepable 18 dB/octave high-pass filter is ideal for tightening up low-end without losing fullness, while the new 12 dB/octave low-pass filter is useful for cutting out treble and hiss on bass and kick drum tracks. The ORIGIN EVO 32's upgraded filters offer more versatile channel processing than ever, allowing you to get the right sound at the source without additional post-processing.

ENHANCED BUS COMPRESSOR

The SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 console sports a new and improved stereo bus compressor that faithfully recreates the legendary G Series "glue" compressor with a built-in sidechain filter for enhanced flexibility. Featuring classic Threshold, Attack, Ratio, and Makeup controls, the SSL bus compressor enhances any mix with its signature VCA sound. Use moderate compression settings for smooth and subtle dynamic control, crank it up for a punchier sound, or engage the sidechain filter to avoid unwanted "pumping" from bass-heavy content.

SIGNATURE SSL MIX BUS

The signature SSL mix bus at the center of the ORIGIN EVO 32 provides the classic analog summing that made SSL consoles famous. Routing channels to the console's mix bus adds subtle cohesion that DAW summing can never replicate without external processing. Accessed via routing-assign switches on each channel, the ORIGIN EVO 32's mix bus works hand in hand with the console's bus compressor to deliver authentic Solid State Logic sound on every mix.

ADVANCED BUS ROUTING TO SPEED UP YOUR WORKFLOW

The SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 features advanced bus routing and a compact bus matrix with ±10 dB trim pots and simple two-button operation for each of the 16 buses. Assign channels to subgroups, create foldback mixes, or route stereo returns with minimal menu diving; just select the bus and the track, and the blue indicator confirms the link. Four stereo returns with independent trim and foldback A/B sends make cue mixes easy, reducing session setup time and keeping the focus on the music.

SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATES WITH SSL UF8 DAW CONTROLLER

Designed for hybrid studios, the SSL ORIGIN EVO 32 console integrates seamlessly with the SSL UF8 DAW controller via the UF-8 Retrofit Kit, which allows the UF8 to be fitted into the fader tray and repositions stereo group faders into the center section. This provides tactile DAW control alongside the console’s analog signal path, enabling hands-on automation. The SSL ORIGIN EVO's combination of motorized DAW control and analog summing gives you the best of both worlds: precise automation and the sonic benefits of an analog SSL console.
