Product Description
The Schoeps M 222 is a modular head amplifier with a tube circuit, designed for use with the 20 small-diaphragm capsules in the Schoeps Colette series. It is named for Schoeps’ vintage M 221 B tube microphone, but updates the original design to incorporate modern components and a transformerless output circuit. These M 222s, like its namesake, employ Telefunken AC701 subminiature triodes.
The M 222 was originally designed to replace the classic M 221 A and M 221 B. It was manufactured by Elvo Mikrofonbau owned by Bernhard Vollmer, the former quality control manager at Schoeps. The M 222 features an updated transformer-less circuit with an improved performance over the previous model. All of the capsules from Schoeps' Colette Series be used with it, along with all active accessories such as the CUT, KC, RC and GVC.
