The Meris Ottobit X is a modular degradation and texture engine with vintage 80s nostalgia all packed into a compact and easy to use pedal format. It advances the classic bit crushing, stutter effects and sequencing from Ottobit Jr and also adds the pitch tracking ring modulator and frequency shifter from Ottobit 500 Series which are now making their debut in pedal form. Ottobit X includes 6 Glitch, 3 Filter, 2 Ambience, 5 Pitch, 5 Modulation, and 4 preamp types. The new Wikki Wikki vinyl scratching engine has never existed in a pedal before. The VHS delay and reverb ambience types imagine a universe where delay and reverb were built from an array of 80s era videocassette machines.

GLITCH, LOOPING AND PERFORMANCE EFFECTS

At the heart of the Ottobit X is an expansive collection of real-time performance tools designed for creative sound manipulation. Six glitch modes include Grain Freeze, Stutter, Tape Stop, and two innovative one-button loopers, including the Wikki Wikki vinyl-scratch engine for authentic turntable-inspired effects. A powerful 16-step sequencer can modulate dozens of parameters, enabling evolving rhythmic textures, synchronized pitch changes, and complex motion effects that transform static sounds into dynamic sonic landscapes.

DEEP SOUND DESIGN ARCHITECTURE

Beyond bit crushing and glitch processing, Ottobit X offers a complete modular sound-design environment. Multiple filter models, pitch-shifting algorithms, modulation effects, and analog-inspired preamp stages can be combined to create everything from retro video game tones to lush ambient soundscapes. New VHS-inspired delay and reverb algorithms introduce tape-style instability, degraded echoes, and nostalgic textures, while extensive modifier routing allows users to build highly expressive presets with movement, automation, and performance control built directly into the signal path.
