HISTORY
The Lang PEQ-2 was designed in the mid-20th century combining silicon circuitry with precision networks to produce a versatile control package for correcting or enhancing deficient program material in the recording or reproducing of sound. Simply put, it offers unmatched control when enhancing or correcting sound during recording and playback. The PEQ-2 employs non-drift equalizer components and high-Q toroidal equalizer coils for exact frequency shaping. Bridge-selected capacitors and a hermetically sealed design guarantee consistent performance in the studio.
Designed for broadcast and professional studio environments, the Lang PEQ-2 also featured telephone-style EQ in/out switches, expanding its versatility across a wide range of audio applications. Its rugged construction supported continuous operation, while the zero-insertion-loss design preserved signal integrity and sonic transparency. The PEQ-2 quickly became a respected tool among engineers for its precise equalization, dependable performance, and uncompromising build quality. Combining premium components with meticulous engineering, it remains an iconic piece of audio equipment history. Its introduction represented a major advancement in equalizer design, delivering the accuracy and reliability demanded by leading studios and broadcast facilities of the era.
