Product Description

The HEDD Type 05 MK2 Monitor Pair with BASS 08 Subwoofer bundle combines a pair of HEDD Type 05 MK2 2-way active studio monitors with the HEDD BASS 08 subwoofer for a phase-linear 2.1 monitoring system. Each Type 05 MK2 pairs a HEDD Air Motion Transformer tweeter with a 5-inch honeycomb woofer, powered by 2 x 100 W of ICEpower amplification. A 32-bit SHARC DSP with 96 kHz/32-bit conversion drives the HEDD Lineariser, which corrects phase for precise transients and imaging. Desk and shelf filters, a bass-extension mode and HEDD’s Closed or Ported (CoP) design let you adapt the monitors to your room, and both analog XLR and digital AES/EBU inputs, with AES pass-through for daisy-chaining, cover studio and immersive setups. The BASS 08 adds an 8-inch driver powered by 300 W, with its own Lineariser and switchable CoP operation. Designed to pair with HEDD MK2 monitors, it time-aligns with the Type 05 MK2s to form a fully linear-phase sub-satellite system. Both are assembled in Berlin, and the monitors are tested before shipping.

TYPE 05 MK2 2-WAY ACTIVE STUDIO MONITOR WITH DSP

The HEDD Type 05 MK2 is a no-compromise compact monitor with onboard Lineariser and CoP. HEDD MK2 series follow the success of the previous Series ONE monitors, which are used by some of the most successful and talented engineers, producers and sound designers such as Richard Devine (Apple, Google, Jaguar, etc), Heba Kadry (Björk, Slowdive, Ryuichi, Sakamoto), Illmind (Drake, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar), and Hildur Guonnadottir (Academy Award winning composer of Joker, Chernobyl).

Implemented in the MK2 and subwoofer models is HEDD's well-known Linearizer, a phase linearization tool that leads to perfect impulse response and an audibly improved spatial reproduction. The MK2 Monitors have a new and improved lacquer for higher durability and better looks. The monitors will also be available in white.

BASS 08 300-WATT 8" SUBWOOFER WITH DSP

The HEDD BASS 08 subwoofer can be combined with previous HEDD monitor models as well as any other active speaker system. However, their full potential lies in the seamless integration with the HEDD MK2 models. Implemented in the MK2 and subwoofer models is HEDD's well-known Linearizer, a phase linearization tool that leads to perfect impulse response and an audibly improved spatial reproduction. Users can choose between the energy and bass-capacities of a modern bass-port design and the painstaking precision and control of a closed cabinet approach. Removable plugs for the bass reflex tubes, together with accordingly designed filter set ups allow optimum results in either mode.

HEDD are introducing a completely phase linear Sat-Sub system. These are the first Satellite Sub systems that are completely "right in time" by combining a phase linearized subwoofer with a correspondingly time delayed (group delayed) satellite output. Additionally the listener can compensate eventual distances between subwoofers and satellites to stay with linear phase reproduction for the complete system.
