The Audient HORIZON 16 is a 34-in/34-out Thunderbolt 3 audio interface and converter built around 16 channels of line I/O over four DB25 connectors and 32-bit conversion at 133 dB dynamic range. With a dedicated stereo mix-bus path and 0.99ms round-trip latency, the 16 keeps an entire outboard rack patched and printing to the DAW without sacrificing inputs — designed for the engineer integrating analog hardware or instruments into a hybrid mixing workflow.
WELCOME TO THE NEW STANDARD
The 16 is built to sit at the centre of a hybrid studio. Sixteen channels of line I/O over four DB25 connectors keep a full rack of compressors, EQs and a summing box permanently patched, while a dedicated stereo mix-bus path lets you print your master back to the DAW without unplugging a thing. With 32-bit conversion at 133 dB dynamic range your outboard returns exactly as it left, uncolored, and 0.99ms round-trip latency keeps native plugins lag-free. Horizon Control handles routing, monitoring and metering from one panel — and when a session outgrows a single unit, you can daisy-chain up to four for 200 in and 200 out on one driver.
MASTERING-GRADE CONVERSION
The HORIZON interfaces feature high-performance 32-bit AD/DA converters delivering a staggering 133 dB of dynamic range. This is conversion without compromise, providing the absolute transparency required to identify micro-details in a mix and make critical decisions with total confidence. ES9823PRO and ES9039 converters are the highest-performing chips available, selected for unrivaled depth and imaging. Ultra-low noise OPA1602 and OPA1612 op-amps ensure fast, percussive transients are captured with surgical precision. Hybrid analog/digital PLL circuits provide reliable jitter attenuation and rock-solid stereo imaging.
NATIVE PERFORMANCE
Ditch proprietary DSP and restrictive ecosystems. HORIZON utilizes a high-bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 connection to deliver 0.99ms round-trip latency (192 kHz/64-sample buffer) – the benchmark for real-time native monitoring. Run your entire VST/AU/AAX library at professional speeds using your Mac’s full processing power. Achieve near-zero latency for mission-critical monitoring and real-time signal processing. Rock-solid TB3 driver minimizes CPU overhead and buffering for rock-solid, high resolution performance in large-scale sessions.
DEDICATED MIX-BUS CAPTURE
Maximize your workflow without sacrificing primary inputs. The HORIZON features a dedicated Stereo Mix-Bus Path, so you can record your final console or summing box mix-down without ever unplugging your gear. Keep all 16 D-Sub I/O permanently connected to your outboard racks while having a dedicated ‘Print Path’ for your master bus.
