Pedal makers Meris have become favorites of guitarists, session musicians, and audio engineers since their inception in the early 2010s. Founded by former Line 6 employees, Meris has pushed boundaries to offer new colors for the studio palette. From 500 Series modules to guitar pedals, the minds behind Meris are focused on the same thing as their customers: gear and its ability to influence music. Based in Ventura, CA, all of the Meris offerings are built in the US by a small team of people who love music creation just as much as we do.

Meris founders Terry Burton, Angelo Mazzocco, and Jinna Kim convened in California in the 2000s. Angelo and Terry had worked together at Line 6, while Terry and Jinna had also worked at Strymon. Itching for a new venture with less creative boundaries, the three took the leap into developing the Meris brand.
The company's aesthetic reflects their obsession with wacky, unorthodox, and avant-garde tools for guitar processing and pro audio. Pedals like the Mercury 7 soon brought fame to the brand, warranting praise in reviews by expert outlets like Tape Op and Premier Guitar. Keeping momentum with the Polymoon, Enzo, and Hedra pedals, Meris proved it wasn’t simply a one-trick pony.
While many Meris enthusiasts may know them for their brilliant guitar pedals, the company offers much more than stompboxes. Their line of 500 Series modules started with the 440 Mic Preamp, which offers an exquisite op-amp style console sound and is fitted with 1/4” Send and Return slots for use with an effects loop. Designed with the guitarist in mind, the 440 was made to be the ultimate preamp for recording guitar in the studio.
In addition to the 440, many Meris designs got their start in the 500 Series realm, including the Mercury 7 and Ottobit. The latest 500 Series release from Meris is the Hedra, which brings over the three-voice pitch shifter and rhythmic delay from the pedalboard and places it neatly inside of your 500 Rack.
The success of the Meris brand should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with their staff. Building upon their time developing and designing for Line 6 and Strymon, Terry, Angelo, and Jinna go to work every day with the purpose of blazing new sonic trails. Whether you’re an avid guitar pedal aficionado, session musician, or recording engineer, you’ll find Meris tools sound just as inspiring as they look.
