A sequencer is a powerful addition to your Eurorack modular synthesizer setup that allows you to generate unique patterns without the use of a keyboard. They can be used for drum sequences or be used to trigger musical synthesizers.
There are many different forms of sequencers, each with their own unique flavors they can add to the Eurorack. A clock multiplier can give you the ability to drastically change the feel of a sequence with the turn of a knob or flick of a switch, as it syncs from a master clock tempo, you then have the ability to multiply the tempo to half time, double time, quarter note, and more. Most units also have the ability to swing or shuffle the tempo.
The most standard form of sequencing is the step sequencer. A step sequencer is typically broken down into a 16th note interval per step when 64 steps are available you can sequence four bars of music, where every 16th note in the sequence can have its own unique musical value. Most modules have CV inputs for modulating current step, step mode, gate length, current pattern, transpose, repeat mode, ratcheting, and scale.
With so many sequencer options available, make sure to contact your sales rep at Vintage King to find the best fit for your Eurorack modular synthesizer.
