If you aren’t interested in building a custom Eurorack modular synthesizer, you can look into the variety of modular prebuilt systems Vintage King has to offer.
A prebuilt modular synthesizer offers a variety of functions and work similar to a self-contained synthesizer. As a standalone modular unit, prebuilt systems can be controlled by an external keyboard or from the CV outputs of an external module.
Some Eurorack systems also offer the opportunity for expansion if you later choose to add additional modular units. Other options also include a built in keybed, so no external controller is necessary and can make sounds right out of the box.
Some prebuilt systems work as a semi-modular setup offering digital functionality allowing you to save the presets you create. One of the biggest limitations to a fully modular synthesizer is saving the unique sound you came up with, with the addition of digital functionality, you can easily save the created sound without writing a detailed recall sheet of all the patch points and parameter settings. This can be extremely useful if you choose to use your custom sounds live without having to repatch everything to change sounds on the fly.
If you already have a custom built Eurorack modular synthesizer, and are just looking to add another variety to the setup, a prebuilt system can be a great option to expand your rig without the headache of pre planning the HP and PSU of another Eurorack synth.
