The addition of a modular synth drum module can add a whole new world to your Eurorack modular synthesizer. The drum module can give you the ability to create unique drum sequences from pre made samples or recorded audio, for every section of your song. The use of a drum module for the rhythm patterns within your song can free up your LFOs to create custom instruments, and greatly expand the sound design of your arrangement.
Some drum modules can be very simple in design, as they only provide one mono source at a time. Although they are only creating one source, most modules have the ability for CV integration which will allow you to expand on the existing sample. Most advanced Eurorack users will use multiple single source units to create the sound of a drum kit or percussion setup.
Other modules can be extremely complex, and offer the ability to create the sound of an entire drum set or percussion setup in a single unit. In a more complex setup such as the 1010 Music Bitbox, you have up to 20 channels to work with, each with their own CV output. The unit can also be controlled by the use of an external clock sync to match the exact tempo of your project or other external modules. Two effects send are included to add depth to the drums, such as reverb, delay, or any other modulation you see fit. The combinations of sounds can be run in a mono mode or stereo with its dual outputs.
There are so many options available, and with the use of a couple different modular drum synthesizers, you can create almost any drum tone under the sun. To find the right fit for your Eurorack modular synthesizer setup, be sure to contact your sales rep at Vintage King.
