The Genelec 8341A is a state-of-the-art, three-way Smart Active Monitor that delivers the same transparent sound and point-source imaging as its cousin, the popular 8351B, in a small, lighter form factor. Like the other models in Genelec's The Ones range, the 8341A features coaxial drivers, Acoustically Concealed Woofers, a Minimum Diffraction Enclosure with Directivity Control Waveguide, and Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) for energy efficiency. Built-in mounting points and automatic room calibration via Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) Software make these compact studio monitors an excellent choice for surround and overhead speakers in Dolby Atmos studios.
Genelec's SAM technology elevates these compact studio monitors with features like automatic room EQ, level calibration, and phase correction—key features for immersive audio setups. Using the included measurement microphone, powerful built-in DSP, and Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software, the Genelec 8341A analyzes acoustic reflections and resonances, then applies precise filters and delays to correct the speaker's frequency response and phase. SAM technology allows the 8341A to integrate seamlessly with other SAM models, so you can mix and match to create the ideal configuration.
The Genelec 8341A studio monitor features the same innovative driver assembly as its cousins, with a slightly smaller 3.5" midrange driver and ¾" dome tweeter than the popular 8351B. The coaxial arrangement places the midrange cone on the same axis as the tweeter, providing pinpoint spatial accuracy with superb transients and flat frequency response. Point-source monitors like the 8341A eliminate artifacts like comb filtering to provide accurate spatial imaging and consistent off-axis response in immersive setups where spatial accuracy is paramount.
Dual 6.5” woofers hidden behind the front baffle of the Genelec 8341A provide extended low-end response that seamlessly combines with the coaxial drivers to produce a unified wavefront across the frequency range. Rather than firing directly into the room, the bass drivers interact with the Directivity Control Waveguide for deep and powerful yet tight and controlled low-frequency response. In addition to delivering extreme sonic accuracy and phase coherence, this design gives the Genelec 8341A studio monitors a clean, futuristic look.
The Genelec 8341A incorporates a gently curved waveguide across the entire front baffle, providing precise dispersion. This proprietary waveguide design maintains consistent directivity from the low mids through the high frequencies, preserving the tonal balance and minimizing stray reflections from floors, ceilings, and walls.
