New & Current Vintage King Card Holders
The Focal Trio6 Be is essentially a three-way speaker with a 1” tweeter, a 5” woofer, and an 8” subwoofer. Yet, switching to FOCUS mode reconfigures Trio6 Be in two-way monitor.
The Trio6 Be was designed to meet the standards of the most demanding engineers. This dual monitor is the new reference in its price range owing to its extreme neutrality, its precise stereophonic imaging, and its ability to resolve the most minute sonic details, while its Class G amplifiers deliver SPL levels to suit all musical styles.
1” tweeter, a 5” woofer, and an 8” subwoofer
When utilized to its full potential, the Beryllium tweeter reaches up to 40kHz and the 8” subwoofer extends low frequencies down to 35 Hz. This offers engineers complete control of the audio signal.
The 8” W composite sandwich cone subwoofer is complemented by its large port integrated into the front baffle, making it easy to position the monitor near the front wall without saturating the ports and maintaining excellent low-frequency linearity. Its large front port guaranties consistent performance regardless of SPL levels. It also allows a positioning closed to a wall without wall boost effect, allowing an easy integration even in small rooms.
The 5” W composite sandwich cone woofer is installed in an isolated chamber within the cabinet that prevents the sympathetic activation of its other speakers while optimizing its acoustic performance. Two front-facing ports provide bass reflex, enabling the woofer to perform identically in both two-way (90 Hz – 2.5 kHz) and three-way (250 Hz – 2.5 kHz) configurations.
The 1” pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter provides numerous advantages, including wide dispersion, amazing frequency response linearity, quick dynamics, and unrivaled impulse response.
1” tweeter, a 5” woofer
Trio6 Be - 2 voices as a two-way speaker, Trio6 Be employs only the 5” woofer and the tweeter, limiting frequencies to between 90 Hz and 20 kHz. This configuration provides the perfect compromise when checking the quality of the mix for playback systems with limited frequency response, such as TVs, PCs, cars, and portable speaker systems. The frequency response curve of the two-way configuration is identical, though less extended, to its three-way curve, allowing for a perfect comparison that preserves the stereo image. Focusing on this critical middle frequency range facilitates a good mix and enables the engineer to ensure that the levels are just right. A footswitch (not included) activates this configuration remotely from the listening position.
A ¼” input jack on the rear panel receives the trigger signal from a remote pedal, while a ¼” output sends a link to the input on a paired monitor. Most single-button guitar amplifier foot-switches are compatible.
Trio6 Be may be used vertically or horizontally to optimize positioning thanks to an adjustable aluminum baffle housing the woofer and tweeter.
This rotating baffle is capable of rotating 360° in 90° increments, making it one of the most versatile speakers to position.

Couldn’t be happier. These monitors changed my world. Spending big money on monitors is scary, but after using them for a few months I should have made this upgrade years ago.
Don’t forget to break them in for a few days- I thought it seemed silly, but out of the box they sounded meh, after breaking in it was like a different universe opened up.
If you’re in the fence about purchasing these just do it- easily, without a doubt the best gear purchase I’ve ever made.
Really love the sound of these. I bought them to use as nearfield mixing monitors, but once I mixed a few songs on them, I decided they were too big, airy and open sounding for what I needed. I needed the sound to be more precise, more reeled in, and the overall sound including the bottom end to be more focused. They have more of an audiophile theater system feel. So I went back to my trusty Genelec 8351b’s w/GSM kit. I now mix everything on those (without a sub). The bottom end on the 51b’s are sufficient to where you can get away with not having a sub, even mixing hip hop & R&B, which is a big part of what I mix. The GSM kit with the Genelecs is a must have for mixing, to correct for room acoustics to get an accurately translated mix the first time.
Really loving these. I went to VK with the intention of getting either Barefoots or Genelecs and then they showed me these because I said I needed accurate low end monitoring without a sub. These go very low and are quite suitable for a wide range of genres. I haven't been using the footswitch functionality a ton but it's a great added feature. I'm still adjusting to mixing the high end with these because they do sound quite pleasant. I find that if I turn up fairly loud for small periods I can very quickly identify harsh resonances etc and doing so has led to my mixes translating really well. Overall I highly recommend
outstanding translation & detail
I actually purchased a stereo set. LOL
Either way, these speakers are some of the finest and overall best f*#king monitors I've heard. Their performance is superb and they seem to lend themselves well to random room setups. In other words, they perform well in the vertical position and they perform well in landscape mode. If theres one caveat it is the odd mechanism of the rotate-able mid range/tweeter scenario. I think this is a great idea, but its a bit anxiety inducing turning something that doesn't naturally rotate, e.g., the metal face plate connected to the wire, the wire that is pre-twisted, the odd acoustical dampeners, no guide lock of any kind. That is my only real *complaint*. To be fair, I'm not even sure that qualifies as a complaint in some respects. Nor am I sure what one would do to make it more streamlined. The pros far outweigh the one con. Great job, Focal! The voicing is sublime and the panning/stereo imaging is truly a cut above. Contrary to what some know-it-alls on Gearslutz claim, *Focus-mode* is actually quite useful. The cross over points were chosen wisely.
Good stuff
THIS IS AMAZING SPEAKER, I REALLY LOVE IT. YOU JUST NEED TIME TO PLACEMENT RIGHT
