With its compact design and various stock EQ settings the Focal Shape Twin renders, with precision, the entire audio spectrum with the flexibility to integrate into any studio regardless of the room shape or size.
Three Class AB amplifiers power the speaker drivers. Dual 8” double passive radiator drivers provide complete control and definition to the bass and low mid-range registers. Dual 5” Flax Sandwich cones per speaker provide highly detailed frequency response to the low and mid frequencies (40 Hz to 2.5 kHz). A single 1” M-Shaped Aluminum/Magnesium inverted dome tweeter (with very low directivity) accentuates the highest frequencies and provides a flexible sweet spot. TMD suspension ensures your speakers will remain safe even at the highest SPL. The Shape Twin provides the most detailed sound detail at approximately three feet from the listening position.
The rear panel accepts XLR and RCA inputs. There are two independent controls for Bass and Treble along with a releasable high pass filter and adjustable crossover at 160 Hz.
The speaker enclosure is made of an MDF cabinet which is then wrapped in a beautifully designed natural walnut veneer.

These Focal SHAPE Twin's are the obvious solution to the most important choice in your studio - Your monitors. I upgraded to these from my old Mackie HR824s when on of them died. What to do, what to do? I auditioned ADAM A7X's, Kali IN-8 v2's and many others. (I will say that the A7X's are incredibly open on the top end but can be harsh for some people and while I was used to bright top end, they are a step beyond that in my mind. The Kali IN-8's are a fantastic 3-way monitor for the price but are lack a bit of top end openness that I need and by all measures are really not in the same league as the Twins) As someone who records and mixes heavily acoustic and vocal music, I had to have something that was super transparent and accurate, with a tight and full low end and a smooth and utterly clear on the top end without being artificially bright or harsh. I also wanted great mid-range to deliver the critical vocal and instruments without compromise. The SHAPE Twin's Alum/Magnesium Alloy inverted "W" tweeter produce an utterly un-hyped top end that is perfect in it's class. It is sweet, smooth and critically articulate well beyond the range of human hearing but this brings an effortless detail and accuracy to what we can hear. The SHAPE's beautiful top end reveals everything without any fatigue. The chest thumping bottom end of the SHAPE Twin's is at the same time perfectly tight and articulate for an upright bass. It's a deep (2 8" passive radiators no doubt), clear and punchy foundation that is just as relaxed and pure as the wonderful top end. Add in some noticeably articulate but otherwise invisible and transparent midrange from one of the two 5" Flax/Fiberglass sandwich drivers and when you turn these technical and artistic achievements on, all types of music comes alive! Instantly out of box they blew away the Kali IN-8 v2's (which defiantly improved a ton after they had been broken in for a few weeks) and A7X's. It was night and day and a big grin took over my face as I just soaked in the quality and sonic luxury of these speakers. But they just kept getting better and better over the following weeks as they broke in. These speakers a gift that just keeps on giving and then giving more and better! Acoustic, pop, jazz, rock, classical, folk, EDM, vocal, choral all sound amazing. But it's not the amazing of a pushed or hyped frequency response. It's the amazing of speakers that are so well balanced and transparent, that are so able to reproduce all frequencies without effort, with such transparency, that the music just sounds super relaxed and beautiful. You can listen to these for just pure enjoyment all day and want to listen even more as soon as you get six feet away from your chair. For mixing, you know, what I bought them for, they are also true, honest and revealing. If you hear anything amiss or out of balance, anything poking or hiding in your mix... it is because they are actually needing to be fixed. Mixes from the FOCAL Shape Twins are easier, faster and more accurate and they translate very well across all lessor speakers. The SHAPE Twin's are beautiful to behold but startlingly good to hear through. Get yours without a second thought or moments delay. This is the first time I can actually hear what’s going on in the lower mid range! The first car mix I checked was an instant improvement!
These monitors are unbelievable! I spent several months researching & testing many different high end monitors before deciding to get these, I have been blown away by their quality! I've only got to mix a few songs on them since I got them but they are easily the best mixes I've ever done. You won't go wrong with these monitors, definitely the best I've ever heard!
I'm still learning these speakers but I am loving what I am hearing from them so far!
I upgraded from a pair of Adam A7X's and kept my KRK 10" sub. These exceed all expectations for the price point and beat out several other sets in higher price ranges. Super impressed with how well they reinforce the sub and don't require much room eq!!!
