The FLEA Microphones FLEA47 is a superb replica of the renowned 47 tube condenser microphone. Like the original 47, the FLEA47 is a studio workhorse that can be used to capture almost everything! The FLEA47 features a replica of the BV8 transformer used in the original, employing the same alloy mix for the laminates. The body features a no-frills duraluminum construction and is nickel-plated. The entire set includes the microphone in a wooden storage box along with a cable, shock mount and power supply.
Three years ago I got the FLEA 47 with the F7 capsule for my home studio. I use it for vocals and it's been a great mic. It imparts a nice 3D quality to the vocal that's hard describe. Very little needs to be done in the mix to have an outstanding end result, and the build quality is excellent.
Beautiful clear and sweet voice
So awesome I purchased a matched pair!! I had a jazz ensemble rehearsing in my room last week. As an experiment I put up both mics randomly near the group. Patched them to a pair of 1073 and a Summit DCL200 .... The detail is impeccable !! I'll be buying more mics from Flea!!!
This is a brilliant mic. i love it! i did find however that it was overloading almost every pre i plugged it into. using the normal pads on preamps was too much though. All it really needed was -10db. a whirlwind line pad worked perfect. its a shame, i wish they had put -10db pad on the mic itself like a U87 has. i chose the "modern" F47 capsule and im very happy i did. The mic is clear and forward, perfect for current music.

The best 47 I have ever recorded with !!
Knocked it out of the park. Can’t say I have compared this to a vintage U47 but it sounds amazing. My artist heard the difference immediately. Her previous mic of choice was a U87. I heard the clarity as if there were no electronics between her voice and my ears. Flea47>1073>176>DAW. Completely wowed. Then when you go to mix, your job is nearly done already. Thank you Flea and thank you VK!!
