The FLEA Microphones FLEA 12 is an exact replica of the AKG C12. It is equipped with a FLEA CK12 capsule - a great choice if you are considering the clones of original CK12. The tube is a GE 6072 in five-star version which is minimally noisy and microphonic. These tubes were produced especially for military purposes and were used in the original C12. The transformer is our own replica of the original. The FLEA 12 comes standard with modern-style power supply with integrated pattern switch.
In some applications this mic will seem somewhat neutral, but it benefits will stand out during mixdown. It's fantastic for vocals, acoustic instruments as well as ambient miking. Those, who have not experienced, will not believe.
The set includes the mic in a wooden box with PSU, cables, and swivel mount.
A stellar microphone (at least for my voice). I use it mostly for highend voiceover, but sometimes also for singing vocals. I've been commented and asked about my beautiful "sound" very often … and the sound of my voice has been indeed influenced by this microphone. I work it like a musician practices and instrument. It was an investment of course, but it's been worth every single penny. The additional noise in the recording can easily be dealt with in post.
