The Latch Lake Music micKing 2200 is perhaps the world's strongest microphone stand. It performs flawlessly in all positions with the lightest to the heaviest of microphones. It features all of the outstanding original patented features of the micKing including the world's strongest boom clutch in its class, unique patented base, Spin Grip Mic Mount, movable counterweight and revolutionary lever lock adjustment systems. However, the 2200 differentiates itself with just one telescoping extension on both the boom and the mast. It performs flawlessly in all positions with the lightest to the heaviest of microphones. The 2200 utilizes a29 lb 16" base that comes standard on the 3300. This foundation enables its immense strength and flexibility. The MK2200 is the perfect stand to prepare you for just about anything that comes your way.
Latch Lake's patented boom clutch features nearly 16 square inches of clamp-able surface area. That's more than any other mic stand on the market! This impressive surface area provides the maximum coefficient of friction for that unstoppable hold that micKing booms are so well known for. The lever lock system provides quick and simple adjustments throughout the entire stand. These locks ensure, hands down, the strongest hold possible with the least amount of frustration. You can even customize their tension to your precise needs!
The unique patented base doesn't only have the most efficient placement of weight, it can be positioned within each other for great space saving storage. The ultra flexible counter weight system can be positioned anywhere on the boom. They can even be removed when not necessary. Latch Lake have thought all the way down to the finest detail. Every adjustment point on the stands feature their patented cable wedges, enabling very clean cable management.
The 2200 is by far the nicest stand I’ve ever had. It holds my 6lb. Ribbon mic easily and takes up less space than I imagined.
Best stand I’ve ever owned. It’s possible I’ll only buy this brand from now on. So well made. So solid
Dis Ting Is Good Man!
I put off buying this stand for years. Now, I wonder how I ever make do in the studio without it. Worth every penny, and there's no real competition.
This stand has made all the difference in my studio. I have a very heavy large diaphragm microphone (Lauten Audio FC-387) and had tried the strongest Gator boom and K & M boom. They both slipped if I made a slight adjustment in position and it was so frustrating. I've used the micKing for two months and it is built like a truck! No slipping or worries about damaging the mic. Expensive but worth it!!
Fantastic stand. Very sturdy and adjustable. Easy to swap mics and a must for heavy mics. I can extend it to get the mic 9 feet high, hanging upside down. I like the relatively small footprint and ability to roll the mic stand around.
There are a few “sure thing” pieces of musical equipment. Things that simply work the way they were meant to and are built to last. An SM57 mic for example- I still have my first one from the early 80’s I think ... if it ever fails I can use it as a hammer. Well, the Latch Lake mic stand is in the category. It is the ONLY mic stand that has never failed me. You set it. It stays set. Period. Yes it is expensive - yes it is heavy. You’ll go through a dozen other mic stands that slip or strip out - and this one will still be sta ding
Good!!
