Most new items that Vintage King carries are subject to our FREE extended warranty protection. If the manufacturer offers a one-year warranty on your product, then you are covered under the same warranty terms for a total of two years from the time of initial shipment. Likewise, if the manufacturer offers a five-year warranty, then you receive a total of six years of coverage when purchasing through Vintage King. We add one year to your standard manufacturer's warranty period, FREE of charge, no matter what the manufacturer's warranty period may be.

Vintage King offers optional no-deductible Accidental Damage and Handling (ADH) plans from Extend on most new and VK-serviced used items for a low cost proportional to the price of the equipment. Plans are available at the time of purchase, both online and through your Vintage King Audio Consultant.
Your Extend ADH Protection Plan begins at the time you receive the gear and lasts for the duration of the term it was purchased for. The ADH plan covers damage caused by accidents such as drops, breaks and spills, including some commonly damaged components that are not traditionally covered by a warranty. This includes speaker drivers, mic capsules and tubes.
For added peace of mind, if you select an ADH protection plan that lasts longer than the manufacturer's warranty, the ADH plan will also cover mechanical and electrical failure, just like a regular extended warranty plan, once the manufacturer's warranty has expired. In the early days of Vintage King, owners Mike and Andrew Nehra would buy vintage gear for their recording studio and often receive broken and incomplete junk in need of repair. When Vintage King became a retailer, they made a pledge to never let that happen to any of their customers… Not once! That's why Vintage King offers an industry-leading level of technical service and warranty support on our used and vintage items, the likes of which has never been surpassed.

Due to the size and complexity of recording consoles, we offer a wide variety of warranty periods to best suit our customers and the consoles they are purchasing. Our consoles are sold in the following variations of servicing scenarios and warranty periods, depending on the specific console.
Vintage King offers select used consoles for sale on a brokerage basis, which means that we do not own the console, but we are representing the sale on behalf of the console's owner. These consoles are sold as-is with a detailed third party technical report whenever possible and benefit from Vintage King's high level of customer service and communication throughout the sales process. This includes assistance with decommissioning and freight shipping wherever applicable. Console owners enjoy selling through Vintage King for our convenience and expertise in handling their sale, payment transaction and shipping concerns. No warranty is included on brokered consoles.
Vintage King offers certain consoles at fair market value, which may need some degree of servicing or repair. These consoles are owned by Vintage King and sold as-is with the market pricing adjusted down to account for any parts and labor that may be required to get the console 100% to factory specifications. These consoles will come with a tech report detailing the condition of the console and any flaws that may be present, so that there are no surprises when the console is received. The console will be cleaned, tested and guaranteed to power up upon delivery. No warranty is included on consoles sold as "Tested with Fault Report."
Vintage King also offers modern used consoles or control surfaces that are fully functioning and serviced. This sale includes a 30-day warranty on removable modules and power supplies from the time of shipment. These consoles will undergo a complete and thorough cleaning and testing by our expert technicians with any faults being repaired to factory spec. During the 30-day period from shipment we will repair any faults on removable modules or power supplies at the discretion of our technical support staff if problems arise.
Vintage King is the world leader in vintage console restoration services. The staff at the Vintage King Tech Shop have restored hundreds of vintage consoles, which now reside in premier recording and mixing facilities across the globe. Our expert technical staff spares no expense and cuts no corners when it comes to ensuring that our Premium Restorations are functioning and sounding like the day they left the factory. Cosmetics are given due attention as well, making sure that your new vintage console makes a statement.
Our Premium Restoration consoles are serviced to order upon placement of a deposit. Lead times may vary depending on client time frame, current servicing queue and amount of labor hours required on a given project. Amazing craftsmanship and quality cannot be rushed, but our team will work with you to ensure your project is handled in a timely fashion and to a standard that will well exceed all expectations. Our Premium Restoration consoles include a one-year warranty on all removable modules and power supplies.

No doubt about it, the US Tax Code is not a thrilling read. However, there is one provision that can truly benefit your business. Did you know that you can get tax breaks for the new and used gear you buy this year? Section 179 helps makes it all possible!
By giving business owners the chance to deduct up to $1,040,000 total this year on equipment purchased, Section 179 of US Tax Code makes it easier to buy the gear you need. In order for the rule to apply, you have to make your purchases and put the equipment to use before December 31, 2020 to save on your taxes this year.

We'll do our best to translate the math-speak. At its core, Section 179 was added as a part of recent Stimulus Bills that were passed into law. Before Section 179, you could only write off the amount your gear depreciated every year, which can still be done. This new provision helps business owners get the equipment they need today by accelerating that depreciation through Section 179.
Thanks to Section 179, you get to write off the full purchase price in the very same year you buy the gear. By doing this, you don't have to postpone the purchases you want to make. If you know certain equipment will help grow your business in the coming year, then Section 179 can help you throughout the process.

Section 179 does come with limits – there are caps to the total amount written off ($1,040,000 for 2020), and limits to the total amount of the equipment purchased ($2,590,000 in 2020). The deduction begins to phase out on a dollar-for-dollar basis after $2,590,000 is spent by a given business (thus, the entire deduction goes away once $3,600,000 in purchases is reached), so this makes it a true small and medium-sized business deduction.
All businesses that purchase, finance, and/or lease new or used business equipment during tax year 2020 should qualify for the Section 179 Deduction (assuming they spend less than $3,600,000).
Most tangible goods used by American businesses, including "off-the-shelf" software and business-use vehicles (restrictions apply) qualify for the Section 179 Deduction.
For basic guidelines on what property is covered under the Section 179 tax code, please refer to this list of qualifying equipment. Also, to qualify for the Section 179 Deduction, the equipment and/or software purchased or financed must be placed into service between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

Whether you use the equipment at the office, studio or on business trips, the gear still qualifies for an income-tax deduction, determined at the percentage you'd be using the product at work.

A "vintage" item is a piece of audio gear that has been formerly owned by someone else, and either sold to us, or traded in toward the purchase of other equipment. The term "vintage" is not a precise one, but generally refers to a product that is at least 20-25 years old. Audio equipment from this era is predominantly analog, but does include some of the earlier digital gear. Most of our vintage pieces are from the "Golden Age" of audio design and manufacturing, with companies like Neve, Neumann, Urei, dbx and Helios making their classic products in the 60s and 70s. Vintage King is proud to offer the largest selection of such gear in the world, and we are constantly looking to expand our stock, (hey, we have to live up to our name!). All of our "vintage" items are serviced by our in-house technical staff - using as many original parts as possible - and nearly all of them are provided with a six month or 1 year warranty.
A "used" item is a product that has been formerly owned by someone else, and either sold to us, or traded in toward the purchase of other equipment. Some used items are relatively new; their owners only part with them so that they can 'trade-up' to something else they have their eye on. Other used items that are of a certain age are called "vintage" items. Although no longer under the manufacturer's warranty period, almost all used items are serviced by our in-house technical staff, and come with a Vintage King warranty: 1 year for analog rack gear, 6 months for microphones, and 30 days for most digital products.
