Completing A Purchase With Affirm By Phone

  1. Download the Affirm app to apply for a virtual card or create an account of Affirm's website.
  2. Once you've created an account, a 4-digit verification code will be texted to your phone.
  3. Select "Vintage King" as the store that you'd like to shop at and enter the amount that you want to spend.
  4. If you're approved by Affirm, you'll be given a virtual card (as pictured here). To prevent misuse, this virtual card is only valid for 24 hours.

Avoid Restocking Fees

Help us sustain our Easy Return policy. To reserve your right to return the gear within 30 days with no re-stocking fees please observe these steps upon receipt of item(s):

Keep all packaging in like-new condition. Open packaging gently and carefully.

  • When opening package use scissors and try avoid tearing packaging.
  • Take note of how components are packed.

Keep all items in new condition unless 100% sure you're keeping the gear.

  • Avoid scuffs and scratches in handling and rack mounting.
  • We recommend rack mounting only after you're certain you're keeping the gear.
  • If rack mounting, use plastic washers and beware of metal rack screws' tendency to scratch rack-mount holes.

Include everything that came with your purchase. If equipment or accessories are damaged or missing, a re-stocking fee will apply upon return.

How To Return Your Items

  1. Contact Vintage King to obtain a Return Authorization (RA).
  2. Place a copy of the RA inside the package of the items for return.
  3. Write RA number anywhere on your airbill, not on the box or packaging.
  4. Returns must be complete including accessories and documentation with original packaging.
  5. You are responsible for return shipping costs including shipping insurance which is recommended to protect your items, as you are liable for items damaged during return shipment. Additionally, if you received Free Shipping on the order when we fulfilled it, we will be deducting the value of this shipping cost from your refund/discount.
  6. The following products are NOT returnable:
    • Special Order Items - Items that are non-stocking and require special ordering
    • Personal items - Items that require intimate contact with the body during use, including in-ear headphones and microphone windscreens
    • Custom built cabling, mic input panels and stage boxes
    • Software
    • Computers
    • Hard Drives
    • Recording Master Tape
    • Studio furniture, racks and chairs
    • Items shipped via freight
  7. We will inspect your return once it's received. If you have met the above conditions and the items are all in like-new condition, you will get your choice of a full refund or credit on account.
  8. If any of the above conditions are not met, Vintage King reserves the right to charge a restock fee equal to our costs to return the item to like-new condition.

International Returns

Important: In order to avoid unnecessary duties or taxes when returning your item(s), you MUST use the customs and shipping documents Vintage King provides along with your Return Authorization. Vintage King will refuse shipment of items when customer fails to use Vintage King provided customs and shipping documents or returns items without prior authorization.

The Vintage King Easy Return policy is effective for products purchased after March 4th, 2014.

World Class Warranty Support

Free Extended Warranty Included on New Items

Most new items that Vintage King carries are subject to our FREE extended warranty protection. If the manufacturer offers a one-year warranty on your product, then you are covered under the same warranty terms for a total of two years from the time of initial shipment. Likewise, if the manufacturer offers a five-year warranty, then you receive a total of six years of coverage when purchasing through Vintage King. We add one year to your standard manufacturer's warranty period, FREE of charge, no matter what the manufacturer's warranty period may be.

Optional Accidental Damage & Handling Protection Plans

Vintage King offers optional no-deductible Accidental Damage and Handling (ADH) plans from Extend on most new and VK-serviced used items for a low cost proportional to the price of the equipment. Plans are available at the time of purchase, both online and through your Vintage King Audio Consultant.

Your Extend ADH Protection Plan begins at the time you receive the gear and lasts for the duration of the term it was purchased for. The ADH plan covers damage caused by accidents such as drops, breaks and spills, including some commonly damaged components that are not traditionally covered by a warranty. This includes speaker drivers, mic capsules and tubes.

For added peace of mind, if you select an ADH protection plan that lasts longer than the manufacturer's warranty, the ADH plan will also cover mechanical and electrical failure, just like a regular extended warranty plan, once the manufacturer's warranty has expired. Used Item Warranties

In the early days of Vintage King, owners Mike and Andrew Nehra would buy vintage gear for their recording studio and often receive broken and incomplete junk in need of repair. When Vintage King became a retailer, they made a pledge to never let that happen to any of their customers… Not once! That's why Vintage King offers an industry-leading level of technical service and warranty support on our used and vintage items, the likes of which has never been surpassed.

Our standard used item warranty periods are as follows:

  • Analog Outboard Gear – One-Year
  • Microphones – One-Year (excluding capsules, tubes, and ribbon elements)
  • Speakers – One-Year (excluding drivers)
  • Digital Outboard Gear – 30-Days

Extended warranty plus accidental damage and handling plans are available to purchase with serviced used items though Vintage King's partnership with Extend.

Used Console Warranties

Due to the size and complexity of recording consoles, we offer a wide variety of warranty periods to best suit our customers and the consoles they are purchasing. If you have any questions on a specific console offering, the servicing included, and/or the warranty period, please contact us today and we'll be happy to answer any questions for you. Our consoles are sold in the following variations of servicing scenarios and warranty periods, depending on the specific console.

Consoles (Brokered) - As-Is

Vintage King offers select used consoles for sale on a brokerage basis, which means that we do not own the console, but we are representing the sale on behalf of the console's owner. These consoles are sold as-is with a detailed third party technical report whenever possible and benefit from Vintage King's high level of customer service and communication throughout the sales process. This includes assistance with decommissioning and freight shipping wherever applicable. Console owners enjoy selling through Vintage King for our convenience and expertise in handling their sale, payment transaction and shipping concerns. No warranty is included on brokered consoles.

Consoles (Tested With Fault Report) - As-Is

Vintage King offers certain consoles at fair market value, which may need some degree of servicing or repair. These consoles are owned by Vintage King and sold as-is with the market pricing adjusted down to account for any parts and labor that may be required to get the console 100% to factory specifications. These consoles will come with a tech report detailing the condition of the console and any flaws that may be present, so that there are no surprises when the console is received. The console will be cleaned, tested and guaranteed to power up upon delivery. No warranty is included on consoles sold as "Tested with Fault Report."

Consoles (Serviced) - 30 Days on Removable Modules & Power Supplies

Vintage King also offers modern used consoles or control surfaces that are fully functioning and serviced. This sale includes a 30-day warranty on removable modules and power supplies from the time of shipment. These consoles will undergo a complete and thorough cleaning and testing by our expert technicians with any faults being repaired to factory spec. During the 30-day period from shipment we will repair any faults on removable modules or power supplies at the discretion of our technical support staff if problems arise.

Consoles (Premium Restoration) - 1 Year on removable modules and power supplies

Vintage King is the world leader in vintage console restoration services. The staff at the Vintage King Tech Shop have restored hundreds of vintage consoles, which now reside in premier recording and mixing facilities across the globe. Our expert technical staff spares no expense and cuts no corners when it comes to ensuring that our Premium Restorations are functioning and sounding like the day they left the factory. Cosmetics are given due attention as well, making sure that your new vintage console makes a statement.

Our Premium Restoration consoles are serviced to order upon placement of a deposit. Lead times may vary depending on client time frame, current servicing queue and amount of labor hours required on a given project. Amazing craftsmanship and quality cannot be rushed, but our team will work with you to ensure your project is handled in a timely fashion and to a standard that will well exceed all expectations. Our Premium Restoration consoles include a one-year warranty on all removable modules and power supplies.

What to do if You Have a Warranty Issue?

Should any issue arise requiring possible warranty support, contact our Customer Service representatives Monday through Friday between 10 AM and 6 PM EST and they will be happy to help you.

Please note that you are responsible for all shipping costs related to your warranty repair, unless shipping costs are covered within the policy of the manufacturer's warranty specific to the warranty repair in question. Warranty Service & International Orders

Global warranty policies vary by manufacturer, but in most cases, items purchased in, or shipped from, the USA must be returned to the USA at the buyer's expense for warranty service and repair. If you're outside the USA we recommend you contact our Customer Service representatives directly before reaching out to the manufacturer to arrange a warranty repair.

Vintage King offers free ground shipping to the lower 48 states for online orders of $99 and up. A flat rate of $6.95 is available for FedEx Ground Economy shipping of online orders under $99 and under 10 lbs to the lower 48 states. Occasionally, select products are eligible for free 2-day shipping based on criteria set by Vintage King. Free shipping cannot be combined with other discounts. Some restrictions apply. What Gear Qualifies?

All new items under 150 lbs in shipping weight as well as any order over $99 are eligible for free shipping within the contiguous United States. For items over 150 lbs, additional freight charges may apply and a quote can be provided by our sales team; please inquire for a freight quote on applicable items. For orders totaling under $99 and under 10 lbs, a $6.95 flat rate shipping fee applies within the contiguous United States. For shipments outside of the contiguous United States, please inquire with our sales team for a shipping quote.

If you live outside the US, certain manufacturers may not allow us to ship their gear internationally. Contact us to find out about item eligibility.

In the rare event an item you've selected doesn't qualify, we'll contact you immediately to let you know.

U.S. Delivery to businesses by 4:30 p.m. and to residences by 7 p.m, in 3 business days.

FedEx 2 Day

U.S. Delivery by 4:30 p.m. in 2 business days to most areas (by 7 p.m. to residences).

FedEx Standard

U.S. Next-business-day delivery by 3 p.m. to most U.S. addresses; by 4:30 p.m. to rural areas.

FedEx Priority

Signature Required for Delivery

In order to protect your shipment from theft, we require a direct signature when delivered. An email will be sent upon shipment so you can check delivery dates with the tracking number provided. Please make certain someone is available to receive your package or shipping charges may incur after three delivery attempts. To protect your order, shipments cannot be rerouted after it leaves our warehouse. Should you need to update your delivery address or request a pickup at a FedEx facility, please contact a Vintage King representative and we will update the information with FedEx accordingly. Any packages that require rerouting will be charged $10.00.

Payment Options

Checks: All checks (including cashier's checks and money orders) must clear before any orders or merchandise can be sent out. There is a 5–7 business day hold placed on all checks received.

Bank Wire Bank: details will be provided upon request. We cannot ship until bank wires have been confirmed and funds have been received by our banking institution. Please fax us a copy of the wire transaction provided by your bank to speed up this process and help track your incoming wire. E-mail customerservice@vintageking.com for bank wire details.

Credit Card: We can only ship your order to addresses verifiable by your issuing credit card bank. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number which are the same as your credit card issuer has on file for you. Incorrect information will delay the processing of your order. *Credit card payments will be processed for the full amount before any labor is performed on used and vintage items.

Credit Card Restrictions: Vintage King Audio retains the right to refuse credit card purchases at any time and is subject to Vintage King Audio's approval. Credit card charges for larger transactions may be denied and could require an alternate payment method. Vintage King Audio also retains the right to charge any customer credit card on file to pay for overdue accounts.

Restrictions: Due to manufacturer restrictions, certain brands can not be shipped outside of the United States. Are There Any Exclusions for Promotional Codes?

Payment Terms, Price Confirmation and Billing Errors

Unless otherwise indicated, the purchase price of products will be billed in full at the time of product shipment. Vintage King's payment terms are subject to change without notice at Vintage King's sole discretion. For orders from the website, we confirm the price of a product as part of our order processing procedures. In the unlikely event that a price stated on the Vintage King Website or any other sales materials are incorrect, then the following applies: If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower price and ship you the product. If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Sales Tax Policies

Sales/use tax may be due on your Vintage King purchase.   3. In the resulting screen, enter your activation code in the field and then click "Download Now."
  4. Visit www.ilok.com, log in to your account, and follow the instructions to transfer the license from your account to your iLok USB Smart Key.

FXpansion

  1. First, create a user account at FXpansion.com, if you have not already. This will be your user account that you use to authorize all your current and future FXpansion products.
  2. Proceed to registering your serial at FXpansion.com, if it has not already been assigned to your user account. You can register the product here. You can confirm that your product is registered once you proceed to the Support > Downloads page, as you will see the registered product(s), serials, and download links.
  3. Once registered correctly, proceed to the Support > Downloads > Downloads for and locate the proper product. You will see your product and serial number on this page, along with the blue download link for the latest version of the software.
  4. Proceed to downloading the appropriate link. These downloads are the FULL installers for your product(s). There is no need to download and install the previous versions in order to use the latest version of your product.
  5. After you download, please open the downloaded file. This will prompt the installation to your system. After a complete install, please open your product and you will be prompted to authorize your product.
  6. When the FX License Manager pops up, authorize using your registered FXpansion user account name, password, and product serial. Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and you should have no problems with the authorization process. No doubt about it, the US Tax Code is not a thrilling read. However, there is one provision that can truly benefit your business. Did you know that you can get tax breaks for the new and used gear you buy this year? Section 179 helps makes it all possible!

By giving business owners the chance to deduct up to $1,040,000 total this year on equipment purchased, Section 179 of US Tax Code makes it easier to buy the gear you need. In order for the rule to apply, you have to make your purchases and put the equipment to use before December 31, 2020 to save on your taxes this year.

Does the tax break apply to me?

How does Section 179 work?

We'll do our best to translate the math-speak. At its core, Section 179 was added as a part of recent Stimulus Bills that were passed into law. Before Section 179, you could only write off the amount your gear depreciated every year, which can still be done. This new provision helps business owners get the equipment they need today by accelerating that depreciation through Section 179.

Thanks to Section 179, you get to write off the full purchase price in the very same year you buy the gear. By doing this, you don't have to postpone the purchases you want to make. If you know certain equipment will help grow your business in the coming year, then Section 179 can help you throughout the process.

Limits of Section 179

Section 179 does come with limits – there are caps to the total amount written off ($1,040,000 for 2020), and limits to the total amount of the equipment purchased ($2,590,000 in 2020). The deduction begins to phase out on a dollar-for-dollar basis after $2,590,000 is spent by a given business (thus, the entire deduction goes away once $3,600,000 in purchases is reached), so this makes it a true small and medium-sized business deduction.

Who Qualifies for Section 179?

All businesses that purchase, finance, and/or lease new or used business equipment during tax year 2020 should qualify for the Section 179 Deduction (assuming they spend less than $3,600,000).

Most tangible goods used by American businesses, including "off-the-shelf" software and business-use vehicles (restrictions apply) qualify for the Section 179 Deduction.

For basic guidelines on what property is covered under the Section 179 tax code, please refer to this list of qualifying equipment. Also, to qualify for the Section 179 Deduction, the equipment and/or software purchased or financed must be placed into service between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

We should also mention that if a piece of gear will be helpful for business and personal use (i.e., headphones), it can still apply to Section 179. Whether you use the equipment at the office, studio or on business trips, the gear still qualifies for an income-tax deduction, determined at the percentage you'd be using the product at work.

Used item delivery times vary depending upon the item. Signature Required

In order to protect your shipment from theft, by default, we require a direct signature when delivered. You can opt out of this option in the checkout, which will mean that the shipping carrier will leave your package without anyone signing for it. If shipping with signature required, please make certain someone is available to receive your package or shipping charges may incur after three delivery attempts. Any packages that require rerouting will be charged $10.00.

What Are "Vintage & Used" Products?

Vintage Products

A "vintage" item is a piece of audio gear that has been formerly owned by someone else, and either sold to us, or traded in toward the purchase of other equipment. The term "vintage" is not a precise one, but generally refers to a product that is at least 20-25 years old. Audio equipment from this era is predominantly analog, but does include some of the earlier digital gear. Most of our vintage pieces are from the "Golden Age" of audio design and manufacturing, with companies like Neve, Neumann, Urei, dbx and Helios making their classic products in the 60s and 70s. Vintage King is proud to offer the largest selection of such gear in the world, and we are constantly looking to expand our stock, (hey, we have to live up to our name!). All of our "vintage" items are serviced by our in-house technical staff - using as many original parts as possible - and nearly all of them are provided with a six month or 1 year warranty.

Used Products

A "used" item is a product that has been formerly owned by someone else, and either sold to us, or traded in toward the purchase of other equipment. Some used items are relatively new; their owners only part with them so that they can 'trade-up' to something else they have their eye on. Other used items that are of a certain age are called "vintage" items. Although no longer under the manufacturer's warranty period, almost all used items are serviced by our in-house technical staff, and come with a Vintage King warranty: 1 year for analog rack gear, 6 months for microphones, and 30 days for most digital products.
