If you've been around studios for any length of time, there's no doubt you've run into that light-blue EQ renowned for its musicality. Of course, we're talking about none other than the Mäag Audio EQ4M, an essential tool for recording, mixing, and mastering.
As one of the best-selling stereo EQs on the market, the EQ4M has built its reputation around a unique six-band design. Each channel features four fixed frequency bell bands at Sub (10Hz), 40Hz, 160Hz, and 650Hz, along with a fixed shelf at 2.5kHz. Each band has a boost/cut range of +15 dB and -4.5 dB, giving you the precise tone-shaping tools needed for handling mono sources or stereo mixes and masters.
But that's not all. The EQ4M also features Mäag Audio's signature Air Band on both channels. This bypassable shelf can be set at 2.5kHz, 5kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz, or 40kHz, and features a dedicated Gain control of up to +15 dB. The Air Band adds openness to the top end without introducing harshness, making it a go-to for enhancing clarity and detail.
