The Dangerous Music BAX500 brings the legendary Baxandall EQ design to the 500 Series form factor. Sharing the same concept and principles as the 19" rackmount BAX EQ, this lunchbox module uses broad shelves to shape several octaves at once. With subtle moves, engineers can add low-end weight, top-end openness, and overall sweetness to their sources.

Dangerous Music’s BAX500 layout makes it extremely easy to work with. There are two sections, High and Low, and each features three controls: Shelf, Cut, and Level. The shelves are broad and sweet, think musical rather than surgical. The Low Frequency Cut Filter handles low-end rumble, while the High Frequency Cut Filter removes unwanted ultrasonic noise. Last but not least, Low and High level controls provide up to ±5 dB of cut or boost.

In our new Quick Hits video, we're utilizing the BAX500 on a number of different mono sources, and working with a stereo pair on the drum and mix bus. Watch below to hear the EQ on performances by Olivia Dear (Vocals), Mike Leslie (Vocals, Full Mix - Vocals), and Bryan Reilly (Drums, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Full Mix - Instrumentation).
