The Avid MBOX Studio continues to push the envelope with better sound and more features than ever, giving independent musicians, producers, engineers, podcasters and streamers everything they need to achieve professional sound. This powerful desktop interface boasts four pristine mic preamps, low-latency recording and monitoring, Variable Z instrument inputs, loopback recording, assignable buttons and much more. Plus, the included MBOX Ignition Pack contains a suite of production tools including software, plugins, loops and samples, sound effects and more to help you kickstart your creativity.
A generous complement of inputs and outputs make the MBOX Studio flexible enough for a variety of studio configurations. Two sets of monitor outputs and two headphone outputs with independent cue mix control allow you to monitor any way you like, while four additional line inputs make it possible to connect multiple synths or other line-level sources. Additional I/O includes eight channels of ADAT optical, two channels of S/PDIF via coaxial cable, MIDI in and out, and two footswitch/expression pedal inputs.
While certainly packed with features, the MBOX Studio still prioritizes what matters most—sound quality. Thanks to Avid’s latest generation of ultra-clean preamps and high-performance D/A and A/D converters supporting 24-bit, 192 kHz quality, anything you put through this interface will come out sounding exactly how you intended.
Guitarists will love the Variable Z instrument inputs, which allow you to adjust the impedance for optimal tone with different guitars and pedals. Dual effects loops make it easy to integrate your own outboard effects, and an impedance-matched Hi-Z output lets you send your signal back to an amp for reamplification. The included Eleven MK II and Brainworx bx_rockrack amp simulators include a range of classic and modern amps and stompbox effects, and there’s even a built-in tuner so you can ensure every take is pitch-perfect.
The MBOX Studio even has a few new features tailor-made for podcasting and live streaming. Real-time processing lets you adjust the tone of each mic preamp in real time to dial in the perfect sound for yourself and up to three guests, co-hosts or friends. The Loopback feature makes it easy to capture audio from your computer, such as a Zoom interview, gameplay audio or YouTube video, while two-way Bluetooth connectivity allows you to connect a range of devices. Programmable buttons provide easy access to your most-used features for live streaming. Additionally, the MBOX Ignition Pack includes a library of sound effects and tools to make your own intro music.
I’m leave a real review. First, when I saw the Mbox Studio. I had just started using protool. Switching from FL Studio. So making beats to recording engineer. For my interface I was using the presonus io station 24c. $300 interface. Shure mv7 mic . No cloudlift. I dropped an album on all platforms (“hot like fire” King Bill$$$$) with that set up. Right. I saw a video of the Mbox . First time… I was like nahhhh ion like it. Look too DJish, but at the same time. The features it has caught my attention. So I kept watching videos on the Mbox. Until I was sold. This was my next interface. . But that price tho. $900 bucks. Sheesh. I really wanted it for the protool studio that’s included. So getting it used wasn’t a option. But then I happen to see it here on Vintage king B-demo deal. With everything included as it would new. For $649. Ok cool. Got in contact with an seller name Brett. Who really sold me. But really this review suppose to be about the Mbox Studio. So since I’ve had the Mbox , about 2months now. I have recorded about 10 songs with it. I’m really busy 2jobs,3 kids, busy. But what I’ve recorded since I’ve owned the Mbox is excellent quality. No Kap! A huge upgrade. It makes mixing easier. You not fighting the audio recorded . Its clean audio going into Pro tool. To me Pro tool makes audio sound cleaner and professional. My opinion. The Mbox comes with so much. To much to type. So I’m end this review. Thank Brett for the assist. If you looking at the Mbox studio get it. It’s worth it. Effortlessly work flow.
