World-Famous Heritage
When AKG closed its Vienna offices in 2017, a team of 22 engineering, design, acoustics, and software experts banded together to form a new company dedicated to developing world-class pro audio products with a modern sensibility. It all started with the CKR12 microphone capsule, an improved version of AKG’s famous CK12 built with ceramic instead of brass to achieve the same open, detailed sound with better stability and consistency. That capsule formed the basis for the OC818, a large-diaphragm condenser inspired by the iconic AKG C414 with optimized performance and a fresh new look. Today, Austrian Audio offers a full range of condenser, dynamic, wireless, and USB microphones for every application as well as a line of premium over-ear headphones, hi-fi gear, and software.
