Hayden Flack

Hayden Flack hails from Atlanta, Georgia, where his passion for music ignited at a young age. Exposed to a diverse range of great music by his parents, Hayden was playing several instruments before he hit middle school.

His real plunge into the world of audio began with visits to his uncle’s studio, Harter Music Studios in Austin, TX. Watching sessions there, he fell in love with the recording process and decided to pursue a career in audio engineering.

Hayden’s musical tastes are eclectic, ranging from the technical brilliance of The Fearless Flyers to the unique beats of Run the Jewels and the high-energy vibes of System of a Down. This diverse palette reflects his broad appreciation for different genres and styles, always seeking out the precision and creativity in music.

For Hayden, the most inspiring part of the recording process is starting with nothing and ending with something that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. For perfect music production, he points to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and Radiohead's "In Rainbows," admiring their songwriting, tone, and continuity.

A proud moment in Hayden’s career was his work on Lecrae's album "Gravity" in 2012, which won a Grammy for Best Gospel Album. His approach to recording is straightforward and meticulous: “Start clean, end clean. Never say ‘fix it in the mix.’”
