With chops ranging from steel guitar, keys and more, it's safe to say Cody Angel has a passion for creating music. Finding interest in not only great songs but great musical tools, Cody's work brought him to the VK team, where he's right at home amongst fellow gearheads. With a particular love of playing his steel guitar, Cody's work in country music featured highlighted performances including stints at the Grand Ole Opry and the iconic Stagecoach Festival.
Growing up in Kentucky, Cody's music fascination led him to Nashville, where he now resides with his wife and newborn daughter. When he's not deep within the trenches of music creation, Cody loves to cook and whip up espresso, spending free time reading and working within his church.
Share a few highlights from your career that you are proud of and bring to your new role. Playing great shows like Stagecoach Festival and the Grand Ole Opry; as well as making fun records with great songwriters.
Are you a music maker? If so, describe you setup and essential gear. I play guitar, steel guitar, dobro, keys, and sing. I've always been interested in music, and I got my first guitar as a gift when I was 11. I started playing steel guitar when I was 18. I play a lot of country music, but I love to do anything that allows me to play steel guitar in an atypical way.
"Normally on a project like this I would've spent 80% of the budget at sweetwater and 20% at ebay, reverb etc. After hooking up with Cody I ended up spending 90% at VK, 5% SW, and about 5% everywhere else. His returning phone calls, looking up specs, calling manufacturers was everything. The course of this project absolutely changed for the better with Cody in my corner."
Chris, Private Studio Owner
"Cody is a buddy of mine, and we were already friends before working together through Vintage King. But Cody is an amazing person and phenomenal at his job. He listens to you and helps you find the best thing for what you need, not the thing that pays more commission. I will be a long-term repeat customer because of that."
Bobby, Commercial Studio Owner, Freelance Engineer, Producer, and Atmos Mixer
"Cody Angel has been incredibly helpful for the entire time I’ve started buying from vintage king. Give that man a raise."
Demetrius, Private Studio Owner, Operator, and Producer
"I consistently purchase all of my gear through Vintage King, but really for one reason alone. My sales rep Cody Angel is the best. Really not pushy at all, as friendly as it gets and always helps me resolve issues and get the info/products I need."
Joe, Private Studio Owner, Producer-Studio Monitor Upgrade
"Cody Angel is always so helpful, honest, and quick when getting me the gear I need in a hurry! Have no issues or qualms!"
