High-performance 3-way compact active loudspeaker equipped with a custom-designed 3” mid-range driver for added clarity in the midrange plus two 6” bass drivers, a unique 1” dual-suspension tweeter, and three dedicated amps to accurately recreate audio signals
ATC made history with their innovative SCM Series, which were the first studio monitors to integrate a custom-designed 3” mid-range driver for added clarity in the midrange. The ATC SCM45A Pro also features two 6” bass drivers, a unique 1” dual-suspension tweeter, and three dedicated amps to accurately recreate audio signals at high levels with minimal distortion.
The SCM45A Pro is a mid-sized high-performance studio monitor featuring a 1″ dual-suspension ’S-Spec’ tweeter, a hand-built 3” soft dome mid driver, and two hand-built 7˝ carbon-paper cone bass drivers. The built-in discrete MOSFET class A/B tri-amp feature 150 W, 60 W and 25 W of continuous power output for high-output performance. Designed specifically for critical near-field listening, LCR surround monitoring, and full surround channel support, the SCM45A Pros are perfect for mixing music or film.
Unlike most studio monitors, the SCM Series monitors aren’t going to make your music sound better—they’re going to point out every little flaw in your mix, and that’s the point. Hi-fi speakers are great for listening to records, but when you’re actually making records you need a neutral monitor that reveals as much information as possible.
Speakers with hyped lows and highs cause engineers to create inverse mixes that are weak and dull. Because SCM Series monitors offer a flat, neutral frequency response, you can make more informed decisions and create better mixes faster.
Most two-way speakers place the crossover frequency between 1.5 kHz and 2 kHz which often creates an unbalanced midrange, resulting in a lack of clarity. ATC SCM Series monitors feature a custom 3” driver that focuses on 380 Hz - 3.5 kHz, allowing you to monitor your midrange with more accuracy.
The ATC SCM Series offers high-performance in the most compact form factor possible. While SCM Series monitors are right at home sitting on the meter bridge in a recording studio, they’re equally at home in many other settings, such as post-production houses or rack-mounted in broadcast studios.

Love these things. First major purchase I’ve ever made where I’ve had 0 buyer’s remorse. Spent almost a decade looking for my ‘forever speakers,’ was real close to buying a couple different ones, glad I held out. These are the first speakers where I felt like I wasn’t making a compromise in any area. Really great midrange, but what ultimately sold me was the top end. The newer tweeter really makes that much of a difference between these and the scm25. Been a ProAc/Bryston guy for 15 years, been nominated for some Grammys for work I’ve done on my ProAcs, the day these arrived, I took my ProAcs down, and haven’t once thought about putting them back up. The stereo image is ridiculous, and the way these seem to effortlessly sound great even when I’m not in the ‘sweet spot,’ continues to impress.
I've had the pleasure of working on some of the finest speaker monitors in the recording business, i.e Yamaha, JBL, Adam, Tannoy, Westlake, B & W just to name a few. I did extensive research when it became time to chose my dream speakers but most importantly, I took time to listen to everything. The ATC SCM45As are the most accurate and natural sounding monitor I've ever heard. I thought it was a cute tagline when the makers of the ATCs stated, "You can't unhear these speakers.". . . He was right. You simply can't!!
It's like I'm hearing music for the first time. Great speakers for the money.
These speakers are worth it! Try these out before buying anything else, at the very LEAST they're worth a listen when trying to figure out your next set of speakers. I dig the clarity and musicality of these speakers better than any Barefoots for sure. Don't have too much experience with other high-end brands. All my mixes are translating better, and I can easily hear any movement I make in a mix. GET EM I DARE YOU!
Love the speakers, definitely changed the way I work.
I would give'm 5 stars... but I don't know how the best speakers in the world sound like. My life has gotten a lot easier since I got these speakers. I have spoken to the doctor about the constant hard on I've had since I got them. I don't know what kind of black magic these brits used. It's mysterious. The stereo image is uncanny. I love them with all my heart. I have never been happier. Cheers
Incredible monitors - best in their price range by a long shot imo. Accuracy, power, clarity and inspiration. Film music, pop, classical, it doesn’t matter, the music is accurately represented.
Expensive but worth it
They have what I believe to be the finest midrange driver on the planet. And now with the first Tweeter without ferrofluid it's a winning combination for a long-lasting set of monitors. Ruthlessly revealing they will let you know when you have a great recording and also when you don't. Not cheap but highly recommended be sure to get heavy duty stands and a strong friend to help you put them on.
Amazing bass response! Nice dynamic range. These have become my goto for critical listening during mix down. Expensive, but I am hooked.
