The ATC SCM12 Pro is a passive two-way studio monitor that combines outstanding clarity and class-leading dynamic range in a compact, affordable package. Equipped with a state-of-the-art CLD mid/bass driver and a dual-suspension tweeter, SMSC12 Pro monitors deliver balanced, neutral sound with a wide sweet spot. With high-performance components a compact footprint, SMSC12 Pro monitors are ideal for critical near-field listening in small-to-medium control rooms.
The ATC SMSC12 Pro features a one-inch soft dome tweeter with an innovative dual suspension design for silky smooth highs up to 22 kHz. Unlike conventional tweeters, ATC’s dual suspension tweeters offer far greater control of the voice coil and dome motion—especially at higher sound pressure levels. By reducing internal distortion, this groundbreaking design delivers detailed highs with improved clarity and definition. ATC’s dual suspension tweeters also significantly reduce listener fatigue, allowing you to work on long mixing projects without losing perspective.
SMSC12 Pro studio monitors are equipped with ATC’s legendary six-inch Constrained Layer Damping (CLD) mid/bass driver. With a 1.75-inch diameter voice coil, and a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) optimized high-energy symmetric gap motor system, CLD drivers deliver an extended dynamic range for powerful, distortion-free low-end even at high SPLs. ATC’s Constrained Layer Damping technology uses multiple laminated fabric cones to form a stiff, light, driver cone for smoother on- and off-axis frequency response and minimal distortion.
SMSC12 Pro studio monitors feature a high-performance passive crossover with 250 VDC metalized polypropylene capacitors and hand-wound air-cored type inductors for minimal signal loss and distortion. While SMSC12 Pro studio monitors are designed to work with any traditional power amp, they perform best when paired with ATC’s 150 W per-channel P1 Pro dual-mono power amplifier. With class-leading power output and outstanding sonic resolution, ATC power amps deliver unparalleled performance.

I absolutely love my ATC speakers! I have a 7.1.4 setup with 3 ATC SCM25’s and 8 scm12 pro’s. The listening field is amazingly transparent, like you don’t feel like the sound is coming from speakers. The accuracy and detail of what I hear while working really enables me to make quick and accurate decisions. VK was incredibly helpful getting me going.
Fabulous speakers that reveal subtleties and detail with a precise sound stage... Coming from Focal solo6 be with sub6 to the SCM12 I was surprised how low these speakers go without sub. I hooked them up with Hypex UCD400 Stereo Kit- 400W and found them to be a great match. Special thanks to Mike Canarious and Dave Fisk for their help... I had great conversations with them....
Very musical and natural sound! No ear fatigue. I love them
I love these speakers. The treble is understated and silky and I can easily work an hour 8 day on them. There is very little awkward transition at the crossover point between the drivers - the midrange is solid and reliable. The low end sounds "bunched up" a bit, not peaky and unreliable, rather a broad, warm and punchy emphasis in the low mids.
I don't recommend them for a primary set of monitors - they present no sub information to speak of (which, as a closed box design, isn't surprising). The leaning towards the low mids gives these monitors are certain lens that is great for certain tasks, not great for others. They are pairing really well with my Genelec mid-fields (which can suffer from an overly clinical sound devoid of low-mid warmth), and Neumann nearfields (which are scooped sounding).
These are great, truly professional speakers. Immediately they revealed problems in my mix that I didn’t even hear on my previous speakers. The problems really stand out. Listening to reference recordings were equally revealing. On a classical record with Jacquelin Dupree I heard a musician cough in the back of the orchestra that was quite distracting which I never even heard before. On the Stones “Some Girls” album, a voice in one of the background vocals stood out as clearly not one of the Stones. There is a neutrality to these speakers that is hard to describe, but it is like the sound is coming out of a totally silent, flat background.
They sound killer. P.S. -Use a Class A amp with them and they will be very happy. Thank you Mark Smak for helping make things smooth in the order process.
They sound great!
Finally can mix for hours. Very musical.
