The Spacemen Effects Voyager II is a fully analog, optical tremolo with unique tricks up its sleeve, including a deliciously dynamic envelope control section, and beautiful built-in overdrive. It is a wonderfully expressive pedal that focuses on three core sections and the details within them.
With its Gain and Level controls, Voyager II can deliver everything from transparent unity gain; to a perfectly voiced powerful boost; to the sweetest organic overdrive you’ve ever heard in a tremolo pedal (or perhaps any pedal). The Voyager II includes a secondary footswitch to stop/start the tremolo, so you can use it independently. Lastly, the Filter control allows you to dial in the perfect amount of sparkle or analog warmth you desire.
The analog LFO in the Voyager II offers two wave shape options, Triangle wave for a wonderfully smooth tremolo, and Square wave for a choppier effect. This LFO feeds a custom optical component that gives it an extra swagger, for a detailed feel that’s hard to describe and can only be experienced. The wide-range Speed and Strength controls allow for fine-tuning your perfect tremolo, and the Tremolo footswitch allows you to stop/start the LFO on command.
Voyager II can manipulate parameters in response to your playing dynamics. In Fade mode, the tremolo depth fades out the harder you play and fades back in with a gentle attack, or at the end of a phrase. In Freq mode, the tremolo speed ramps up as you play and slows back down with a softer touch. The Envelope control fine tunes dynamic sensitivity, while turning fully counterclockwise disengages it.
Released in 2014, the Voyager I was the first dynamic tremolo pedal on the planet, with a feel and response yet unmatched. The Voyager II includes an expanded envelope sensitivity range, along with additional upgrades such as refined Filter and Depth controls, plus an improved noise floor. It’s everything adored about Voyager 1, and more...
