RICH TUBE SOUND

Although the equalizer circuitry itself is passive, the EQP-1A features a push-pull tube amplification stage that lends it a healthy dose of analog warmth and subtle harmonic distortion when driven hard. SIMPLE TWO-BAND DESIGN

The EQP-1A’s intuitive layout features low- and high-frequency shelving sections, each with separate boost and cut controls. Low shelving offers four center frequencies for boosting or attenuating bass content, while the high frequency section provides three (shelf) cut points and seven (peak) boost points across the high band. A single bandwidth knob shapes the Q of high-frequency boosts from broad to sharp. With clearly labeled knobs, you can dial in gentle room warmth or aggressive tone shaping in seconds.

The famous "Pultec Trick" combines simultaneous boosting and attenuation at the same frequency to create complex curves not achievable on conventional EQs.
