Yamaha Montage 8 - 88 Key

The Yamaha Montage 8 is a 88-key workstation synthesizer that combines elements of the DX- and the Motif-series keyboards. Employing Motion-Control Synthesis, the Montage combines two sound engines: the AWM2 (synthesis- and sample-based sounds) and FM-X (Frequency-Modulation synthesis.) Powered by proprietary Yamaha data compression and playback technology, the AWM2 engine provides realistic sound reproduction and features nearly 10 times the waveform capacity of the Motif XF. This means that the Montage allows for far more samples per instrument than the XF, and thus a far more nuanced sound. The FM-X engine is capable of producing everything from classic '80s FM-based basses and bells, to harsh, cutting-edge modern EDM type sounds. It features 8-operator FM architecture and 128-note polyphony, allowing for a massive array of sound-design options. The Montage features 16-part multi-timbral operation, but it comes with a full range of all-new sounds, like the Yamaha CFX Premium Grand Piano, detailed new strings and woodwinds, and select content from the DX and TX families, all modernized to take advantage of the Motion Control Synthesis Engine. Also, Montage is directly compatible with Motif ES/XS/XF Voices, allowing you to transfer your favorite presets and get all of your sounds together in one place. Other notable features include a large color touchscreen, a "Super Knob" control that can control multiple parameters simultaneously, dual insert FX for all 16 parts, powerful pattern sequencer, and an arpeggiator that allows up to 8 arpeggio parts at once.

Effects:

From high-definition reverbs, to detailed Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM) effects, Montage is loaded with DSP. Use effects like Beat Repeat, Vinyl Break or Bit Crusher to get a modern EDM sound. You can even add a compressor with side-chain for a modern "ducking" effect. Or go retro with vintage effects like Analog Delay, VCM Phaser or a variety of Amp Simulators. Piano players will appreciate piano-focused effects like Damper Resonance for a realistic piano experience and reverbs that let you put yourself in any performance space

USB Audio/MIDI:

Connect Montage to your computer with a single USB cable and capture every nuance of your creativity into your DAW. Montage's powerful USB driver can send 16 and receive 3 channels of stereo 24-bit/44.1 kHz digital audio to and from your computer or iOS device. Montage is class compliant, which means no driver needed, and no other hardware required. The USB connection also features full 16-channel MIDI support

Motion Sequences:

Motion Sequences are tempo‐synchronized, customizable control sequences that can be assigned to virtually any synthesizer parameter to provide new ways of creating sound. Motion Sequences also have dedicated controls on the front panel making it easy to manipulate and change in real‐time, providing interactivity and expression

Envelope Follower:

Envelope Follower converts audio into a control source for control of virtually any synthesizer parameter. For example, a drum loop could drive effects parameters for a cool rhythm or a vocal recording could control multiple parameters for a "talking" synthesizer. The audio can even be a live source played through the A/D input.
