The Yamaha MMP1 Studio Monitor Management System is a 40 x 36 channel monitor matrix that can also work as a stand alone interface with your DAW. Included in the MMP1 are eight cue outputs and eight studio monitor outputs, two internal talkback systems can be set to each of those outputs. The flexibility of the MMP1 can easily allow installation of any size speaker from stereo, 5.1 and 7.1, additional capacity is available to handle larger playback systems such as the Dolby Atmos.
MMP1 comes stocked with eight analog inputs and outputs and 16 channels of AES 1/O. 64 additional channels of audio information can be routed through the Dante Network from a single ethernet cable. Your computer must be equipped with a Yamaha Dante Accelerator card or Audinate Dante Virtual Soundcard.
Dial in the perfect bass response with the freely configurable 32x32 channel speaker matrix with crossover filters on every channel. The ability to fully customize the bass response on each individual speaker allows the user to fine tune any size surround system. In addition to the standard IIR filters, Precision linear-phase filters can be engaged to control phase interference between the main and LFE channels, resulting in the tightest, clearest stereo image possible.
Every monitor output has the ability to adjust time alignment delays, engage a six band equalizer and trim the overall level. Take total control of optimizing the sound field for any format from stereo, to the most advanced surround speaker configurations.
Eight onboard channel strips include everything needed for high-quality audio recording, eliminating the need for any additional outboard processing. Each channel is equipped with input gain and output trim, delay, phase invert, filter, EQ, compression and insert capabilities. The onboard compressor included in every channel is modeled from the legendary Yamaha Comp260, offering the same sonic characteristics and response as the vintage VCA and RMS circuits.
Choose between four different styles of EQ. The Precise mode works for dialing in very specific frequencies and gain adjustments. Aggressive mode has the most musical response similar to a Neve or API style EQ. The Smooth mode is a subtle, wide band EQ for broad stroke boost or cuts. The legacy mode offers an digital EQ similar to the ones found in Yamaha mixing consoles.
To make the cue system as comfortable as possible, a “cough mute” control can be connected to the MMP1. When the function is off, the microphone is live in the booth and the talkback loudspeaker is deactivated to prevent any feedback. Engaging the mute will deactivate the microphone and engage the loudspeaker for talkback.
Take wireless control of your MMP1 by downloading the MMP1 Controller App, offering extended intuitive controls of multiple parameters. The app can also be run on any Mac or Windows computer by downloading the MMP1 Editor software, providing all-function access to every parameter and system control within MMP1.
Save up to 20 custom scene memories and snapshots, allowing instant recall of project settings and speaker configurations. A very useful tool if you have multiple speaker configurations in your control room, or have multiple engineers that prefer different workflows.
