Product Description

The Weiss Engineering DAC205 is a professional DA converter that features the DAC-only section from the DAC204 for those who require high-end conversion without the need for USB and DSD conversion. Oversampling sigma delta D/A converters are used. Four DA converters per audio channel are operated in parallel for enhanced signal to noise performance.

With the DAC205 you get legendary Weiss conversion and analog signal path in a more accessible price range!

The DAC205 is a stereo 24-bit/192 kHz DA converter which supports the following conversions:

  • AES/EBU or S/PDIF on RCA to analog
  • AES/EBU or S/PDIF on Toslink to analog

This is the answer to many of us out in reality land. Almost everyone I know operates with PCM. I simply could care less about DSD or any SACD applications. I evaluate music and there is zero DSD or SACD releases to the mainstream distribution. In the production world it’s PCM. In Radioland it’s PCM. Thank you Mr. Weiss for recognizing practical applications and simple solutions.
