Everyone is trying to create a 'smart' EQ, but none use truly generative technology. Often they apply a 'take-it or leave-it' preset curve and don't let you under the hood. That's why the world's first autonomous EQ - the Waves Audio Curves AQ. AQ learns your audio, decides what sound it should have and creates 5 unique EQ profiles you can choose from. These are not presets – but original spectral curves based on the natural qualities of your audio, be it vocals, instruments or full mixes. And beyond AI tools that either hit or miss the mark, AQ has 5 powerfully reimagined EQ controls to personalize and perfect your sound.
The white curve you see is your sound destination – this is called the "Spectral Target" – and you get a choice of 5 targets. Adjusting the Spectral Target feels like a regular EQ, but you're actually adjusting the EQ's destination – and the processing adapts to get you there. The blue (cuts) and red (boosts) represent the actual processing AQ does to bring your sound to the Spectral Target. You can adjust the amount of boosting and cutting you want, both globally and per band.
Some tracks need the tightness of static EQ, others require the adaptiveness of dynamic EQ. You can adjust AQ to work completely dynamically, statically, or with any combination. This isn't a regular tilt EQ. This is a powerful tilt that lets you adjust the overall shape of the spectral target. The processing follows with powerful yet adaptive tonal adjustments.
Offset lets you shift the target curve along the X-axis and adjust where the fundamental frequency sits. It shifts the curve and harmonics to scale and can offer a wildly creative effect. With each instruments "Learn", the Neural Network creates 4 anchors tailored to the frequency spectrum of your track. This gives you a simple way to adjust the low end, fundamental, harmonics and air of your source.
With MixSense, the plug-in resolves conflicting frequencies between tracks in the mix. Feed any tracks through sidechain, and AQ will adjust its processing to make room for them in the mix. AQ works dynamically out of the box to balance frequencies using a flat spectral target. Adjust the amount of processing with the main knob. Curves AQ includes a live, zero-latency version of the same plug-in.
