The Speakers
Footprint 01:
The Barefoot Sound Footprint 01 powered near field monitor is the latest design from Barefoot Sound. Ideal for engineers, producers and musicians in smaller studios, the Footprint01 utilizes the same advanced technology as the MicroMain and MasterStack series monitors to deliver Barefoot’s signature sound in a compact, affordable package.
The Footprint 01 is an active 3-way reference monitor equipped with four class-leading drivers for an extended frequency range from 36 Hz - 45 kHz. Two 8-inch paper cone subwoofers utilize Barefoot’s patented Dual-Force technology to eliminate cabinet vibrations and reduce unwanted distortion. A 4-inch aluminum cone driver delivers a focused, detailed midrange, while the 1-inch dual ring radiating tweeter offers silky-smooth highs with an extremely wide sweet spot.
The Footprint01 features a state-of-the-art DSP crossover, which feeds two Class D amplifiers and a passive crossover network between the midrange driver and tweeter for clean, balanced sound. And with 500 W of power to the subs and an additional 150 W for the midrange driver and tweeter, the Footprint01 packs a powerful punch in a compact frame.
MicroMain26:
Based on the renowned MicroMain27 Gen2, the Barefoot Sound MicroMain26 takes Barefoot’s uncompromising design and world-class performance to a whole new level. This active four-way reference monitor expands upon the traditional MM27 design with a highly detailed and transparent 2.5-inch aluminum cone midrange driver for unprecedented performance.
The MicroMain26 is equipped with four state-of-the-art drivers for class-leading accuracy and detail. The MM26 features two 10-inch aluminum cone subwoofers with Barefoot’s signature Dual-Force design to deliver powerful low end all the way down to 30 Hz. Two dedicated 5.25-inch woofers keep the lower midrange sounding thick and rich.
Barefoot’s new 2.5-inch aluminum cone midrange is housed in a cutting-edge 3D printed waveguide enclosure to deliver clear, detailed midrange with zero distortion. The 1-inch dual ring radiating tweeter offers silky-smooth highs all the way up to 40 kHz with an extremely wide sweet spot for improved consistency.
MicroMain27 Gen2:
The MicroMain27 Gen2 retains the same compact form factor as its predecessor, with integrated dual 10" force-canceling subwoofers, but the MM27 Gen2 is updated with technology developed in the flagship MiniMain12. New additions include ultra-high-quality converters, a 1" ring radiator tweeter, 5.25" extended-range neodymium motor mid-bass drivers, Hypex amplification, AES digital inputs, a 1dB stepped attenuator, and advanced DSP integration.
While the original MicroMain27 was amassing its stellar reviews, Thomas Barefoot remained hard at work cultivating new technology to take the MM27 to the next level. The result is the MM27 Gen2, which delivers the neutrality, form factor, and all-in-one functionality that attracted the likes of Michael Brauer, Butch Vig, Rich Costey, and Mark Linett in the first place. But, the MM27 Gen2 separates itself from its honorable predecessor in key, significant ways. Notably, Barefoot incorporated the successful technology initially implemented in their flagship MiniMain12, including the same signal path, from the converters to the Digital Signal Processor to premium Hypex amplifier modules. What's more, the MicroMain27 Gen2 offers an improved tweeter for even more accurate highs, along with new 5.25" extended-range neodymium motor mid-bass drivers, and the ultra-stable dual 10" force-cancelling subwoofers, a trio that works together smoothly and seamlessly to deliver an honest, accurate image.
MicroMain45:
The Barefoot Sound MicroMain45 studio monitors deliver the same legendary sound of the renowned MiniMain12s in a compact, affordable package. Designed for engineers, producers and musicians working in smaller facilities and home studios, the MicroMain45’s captures the signature Barefoot sound with zero compromises.
The MicroMain45 is an active 3-way near field monitor with four cutting-edge drivers. An 8-inch aluminum cone subwoofer delivers tight, punchy low-end all the way down to 40 Hz. Dual 2.5-inch midrange drivers provide a focused midrange, while a 1-inch tweeter extends up to 45 kHz for super-detailed sound. And with dual ring radiator technology, the MM45s offer an extremely wide sweet spot for consistent sound in any position.
MicroSub45:
Custom designed to complement the best-selling MicroMain45, the Barefoot Sound MicroSub45 delivers hyper-accurate low-end using two 8-inch drivers with Barefoot’s innovative Dual-Force technology. The MS45 uses the same signal path, amplifier and driver technologies as the class-leading MiniMain12 in a more compact and affordable package.
Two 8-inch aluminum cone drivers with Dual-Force technology deliver tight, punchy low-end down to 25 Hz when used with the MicroMain45s. Dual-Force technology uses an innovative force-cancelling design to eliminate vibrations within the speaker cabinet, resulting in distortion-free sound at any volume.
Barefoot has teamed up with Bruno Putzeys of Hypex to develop a powerful and completely transparent amplifier design for hyper-accurate sound. The MicroMain45 is equipped with three class-leading amplifiers, with 250 watts powering the subwoofers and dual 180W amps powering the midrange drivers and tweeter.
MEME TECHNOLOGY
All Barefoot Sound studio monitors are equipped with Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation, or MEME technology, which uses sophisticated DSP processing to emulate the sound of a wide range of classic studio monitors. Quickly reference your tracks on three additional monitor profiles and ensure your mixes will translate to any environment.
“Old School” mode emulates the sound of the iconic Yamaha NS10M monitors with an edgy, midrange-forward sound. The “Cube” setting is modeled after the legendary Auratone Sound Cube, giving your mixes a boxy, lo-fi sound. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the “Hi-Fi” setting emulates the sound of consumer hi-fi systems with a sweet high-end and warm midrange. And of course, the “flat” setting delivers the signature Barefoot sound that engineers, producers and musicians around the world have grown to know and love.
