The Vienna Symphonic Trumpet Ensemble Standard collects sounds from a trio of trumpets. The sound of the trumpet has always denoted military strength, whether this was as a signaling instrument in battle or in a military band. The image of the trumpet as a symbol of authority and social standing goes hand in hand with its association with warfare. Celebrations and ceremonies at court, parades and coronations are inextricably linked to fanfares and other majestic trumpet sounds.

- SHORT + LONG NOTES: Staccato / Portato short / Sustained with and without vibrato
- DYNAMICS: pfp, 2 and 4 sec / Fortepiano and sforzato
- FLATTER + TRILLS: Flutter tonguing normal and crescendo / Trills normal, minor and major 2nd
- PERF INTERVAL: Legato, without vibrato, normal and with sustain crossfading
- PERF INTERVAL FAST: Legato
- PERF REPETITION: Legato slow / Portato fast / Staccato fast
- FAST REPETITION: Staccato, 9 repetitions, 150, 170, 190 BPM
