Neve 33609 C Stereo Compressor/Limiter #20163/K (Vintage)

The Neve 33609 is a classic stereo compressor/limiter, the successor to the legendary 32264 - with all of the same functionality, packaged as a stereo unit in an outboard rack-mount form. Many consider the Revision C version to be the perfect balance between modern and the original. The C version features a more robust power supply and BA640 IC based cards employed in the amplifiers, as opposed to the earlier discrete BA440 cards. The 640 has more headroom and a faster recovery time after clipping, which is important for broadcast use. Another difference is found in the transformers - the C used Belclere transformers, as opposed to the Maranair/St.Ives of the original version. The 33609 C sounds great on just about any instrument, vocal and stereo mix buss.

LIMITER

• Level: adjustable from +4 dBm to +15 dBm in increments of 0.5 dBm
• Attack time: 100 ms, 1ms
• Recovery time: 50 ms, 100 ms, 200 ms, 800 ms, Auto 1 & 2

COMPRESSOR

• Ratio: 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1.
• Threshold: -20 to +10 dBm in 2 dB increments
• Attack time: fixed 5ms
• Recovery time: 100 ms, 400 ms, 800 ms, 1500 ms, Auto 1 & 2
