The Lawson L47MP is a large diaphragm tube condenser built around Gene Lawson's recreation of the M7 capsule — the same capsule design that defines the character of the original Neumann U47. Full multi-pattern control (cardioid, omni, figure-8, and infinite intermediate positions) makes it one of the more versatile large diaphragm condensers in its class, equally at home on vocals, room ambience, or any source that benefits from that warm, open tube character.
This early version features a GE 6072 tube, which contributes to the mic's vintage-leaning tonality. The capsule is internally shock-mounted, eliminating the need for an external shockmount. Capsule is also quick-change compatible with other Lawson L47MPII capsules. Powered by Lawson's universal regulated tube mic power supply.
