​Ribbon microphones have unique characteristics that lend themselves to using a specialized preamp that can optimize performance. These characteristics include low sensitivity, input impedance considerations and no phantom power requirement. The ideal preamp requires low noise, considerable gain and high input impedance. The Integer Audio RMP2 is a microphone preamplifier addresses these needs and is optimized for ribbon mics.

• Discrete front end, THAT 320 precision quad matched bipolar junction transistor arrays (each balanced circuit has 5 paralleled)
• Dual servo design to reduce DC offsets and common mode error
• Balanced signal path uses 0.1% precision metal film resistors and metal film resistors are used throughout
• WIMA film capacitors for servos, and COG ceramic for PS decoupling
• Elma type A4 24-position precision high-quality gain selector switches
• Two layer PCB with silk screen, solder mask and large low impedance ground plane
• External universal AC input power supply (90-264 VAC)
