The Universal Audio UAFX Lion ‘68 Super Lead Amp Pedal faithfully recreates the high-octane tones of one of the all-time legendary British amps. Built on powerful dual-engine processing and world-class UAD modeling, Lion ‘68 brings a wide range of amp head, cab, room, and mod options to nail the scorching sounds used by Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, and Led Zeppelin among others.
Designed using UA’s Dynamic Speaker Modeling from the award-winning OX Top Box, Lion ‘68 features hyper-accurate emulations of three "Golden Unit" 100-watt plexi amp heads. Lead mode offers the chimey cleans, abrasive breakup, and scorching drive of a vintage Super Lead amp head, while Bass mode’s slightly warmer attack and extra headroom makes for an ideal pedal platform tone. Finally, fans of Van Halen’s debut record will love Brown mode—a hot-rodded take on the Super Lead that will make your axe erupt with pure, unleashed tone.
Lion ‘68 also offers hyper-accurate recreations of several classic cabs. Select between the late-60s inspired cab with Celestion 25-watt Greenbacks, a birch cab with Celestion 30-watt Greenbacks, or a combination of Celestion 25-watt Greenbacks and JBL D-120 Fs right from the pedal, or unlock an additional three cab options using the free UAFX Control app.
Lion ‘68 features six knobs, three switches and two footswitches for crafting a wide array of rock-ready tones. The pedal includes two independent volume channels and three-channel EQ just like the original amp, as well as controls for room tone and even a customizable boost channel, which you can set via the UAFX Control app.
