Updated for 2015 the Classic T Antique now includes: our innovative SSCII (Silent Single-Coil) hum cancelling system, SSV neck pickup option, Alder body option, 2 new nitrocellulose body finishes, a vintage tinted nitrocellulose finished neck, a Rosewood fingerboard option, and a parchment pickguard.
In the spirit of the original, the all new Classic T Antique has been developed to meet the demands of the player who asks for an instrument that preserves classic tone and design, while improving on the limitations of vintage instruments. The Classic T Antique propels this design to new heights by blending the best of the old and new schools, in a design that will make you re-think what is possible.
Available in two great Classic T Antique eras:
50s Spec: 2-piece Swamp Ash body with Maple fingerboard on a Maple neck, Trans finishes (2 Tone Burst, Trans Butterscotch or Trans White), and single-ply pickguard (Black Bakelite or White).
60s Spec: 2-piece Alder body with a Rosewood fingerboard on a Maple neck, Finishes (3 Tone Burst, Black or Olympic White), and a 3-Ply Parchment pickguard.
Swamp Ash Popular in the 1950s for guitar bodies, Swamp Ash originates from the Southern parts of America, from trees whose root systems are under water. This wood is lightweight and porous. Its color is light with pronounced dark brown grain patterns which makes it ideal for transparent finishes. Popular with country, blues, rock and metal players alike, Swamp Ash is highly resonant and offers a nice balance of pleasant highs, firm lows, and a slightly scooped midrange.
Maple Sourced mostly from the Northern United States and Canada and is commonly used to make necks. Maple has a classic tone, strong in the midrange with a sweet spanky high end.
The Classic T Antique uses our Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish. Our finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection, beauty, and tone. Great care is taken to ensure that the thinnest possible layers of finish are applied. This allows the wood to resonate freely while still providing ample protection. Our state of the art equipment, experienced staff and uncompromising quality control ensures that no instrument leaves our facility until it meets our demanding standards.
Each Classic T Antique is equipped with our Even C Medium neck profile. Rolled edges and a 9-12” compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape.
The Quarter sawn Maple neck is tinted, then finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, which protects the neck from moisture and provides a comfortable feel of a vintage instrument.
Every Classic T Antique includes medium stainless steel frets, which offers silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability. Utilizing the PLEK process on each instrument guarantees the best possible string action, ensures optimized playability and eliminates intonation problems.
SSCII (Silent Single-Coil) Our proprietary passive 60-cycle hum reduction system has no impact on tone, there are no batteries to change - just transparent noise reduction.
Classic T Single-Coil The Classic T pickups are wound to produce a broad range of classic T-style tones, from clean and snappy to warm and punchy with just the right amount of growl, the Classic T Antique is equally at home in a Nashville honky-tonk or on the Sunset Strip. Every Classic T pickup is hand-built, precisely wound (using our proprietary winding process) and features: plain enamel (neck) or formvar wire (bridge), specially formulated Alnico V magnets and vintage correct black fiber bottoms.
Tuners The Classic T Antique is equipped with staggered locking tuners which provide improved tuning stability and eliminate the need for a traditional string tree.
Bridge The Wilkinson compensated bridge with brass saddles, was chosen for it’s superior tuning stability, sustain and intonation performance while maintaining a classic look and vibe a true vintage instrument.
